15-0 with 67 games remaining with the Lakers up next. Winning % of .667 the rest of the way sounds much easier than having to go 57-10 just to tie the '95-'96 Bulls.

Will they do it? If not, where do they land on this list?

Phoenix also won 62 in 2004-05 but that's besides the point.

I think the Warriors win between 65-70 but wont get the record. They will be running away with the West and sit key guys late in the season. If they play full strength for 82 games I think they have a great chance of breaking the record but I don't see that happening.

Yeah that's true. Probably the only hope would be for San Antonio to keep up with them but they would need the 2nd game of back2backs to be wheelchair basketball to have a chance.(Assuming GS stays healthy)

Assuming everyone stays healthy for them I'm gonna say they reach 70.

70-12 on the year, which is still incredible, but no one's breaking that record. Kinda hope I'm wrong, because it'd be fun to witness.

If they're close enough, they won't sit people down the stretch, you know they wanna break that record.

Exactly what I am hoping for. I want to see it happen and think they can get at least 65 wins?

71 or 72 and people will be upset that Kerr rested some players down the stretch, accusing him of trying to retain the Bulls record, ignoring the fact that beating that record as a coach would be awesome, too.

I just looked at Steve Kerr's head coaching record and he is still receiving victories for this season even though Walton is the interim coach. (both Arizona grads btw) I never thought about the subject before but I guess now I know the answer. Head coaches still receive credit for their team's record when they are not coaching.

Steve Kerr's head coaching record as of today 81-15, .858 winning %, and one NBA title. Not bad.

The fact that Kerr even considered the Knicks job is laughable at this point.

I had no idea those wins would count for him. Kinda weird…

I think they will go 82-0 and sweep through the playoffs for the absolute perfect season and then we won't have to hear about the '72 Dolphins ever again because 17 whole victories will look pretty lame compared to 98-0.

They have never had any major significant injuries defying statistical improbabilities in this game.

Every single team other contender had crippling injuries at times last year whether it was Kawhi, Dwight, Blake, Durant, Aldridge, Parker, Lebron, Kyrie, etc

Plenty of teams could have challenged that record over the years (OLD OR YOUNG) but injuries are inevitable.

Simple odds suggest that GSW will have to deal with it eventually as well.

Well, they are tied for third on this list already from last year having won 67 games.

A couple weeks ago I posted here that they looked even better than last year, so why couldn't they win 70? I agree they may rest guys but the way they look, if they stay healthy, they can beat most teams even resting a guy or two here and there.

They'll get 70, got to think they may come down to earth soon though.

I agree, especially after hearing from Luke that Kerr's message to the guys is to defend the title, not break the most wins in a reg season record.

A few years ago SA was 25-3, Dallas was 23-5, and Boston was 23-4

None of them won the overall top seed, only SA with 61 wins crossed the 60 win threshold

Injuries happen

Getting back to back 60+ win seasons is tough.
