Ottawas's GM, perfect....

"ok, if thats the case..we'll slash one of their guys and take out 5 minutes"

stone, microfracture in his wrist.

this series just got 75% more awesome and bloody.

Ottawa Senators enforcer Chris Neil has a message for Montreal Canadiens blueliner P.K. Subban: Keep your head up.

On Friday’s front page of the Ottawa Sun, Neil is quoted as saying, “If [Subban] is skating up the ice with his head down, you finish your check on him. That’s how you get him back.”

Some not-so-serious thoughts on this.

1. Who exactly would MTL take out? Pacioretty? Maybe, if he plays.
2. Love Neil's comment. That is a pro who has a message but knows where the "line" is and doesnt cross it.
3. Some might say "OTT should shut the hell up and do their talking on the ice." Fair enough, but with today's media, that is not really an option.
4. For sh_ts and giggles, the League should suspend Subban for Game 2. Then someone should put a cutout of Bettman and Clarence Campbell (for the old timers) in Le Gros Bill's seat. Hilarity will ensue.

Drop the puck !

This series has all the makings of an impending '97-Wings-Avs-esque brawl. I'm tuning in.

Who wins, Price or Hamburglar?

Carey Price: 6'3, 220 lbs
Hamburglar: 6'1, 215 lbs.

I think Price may land more shots, but Hamburglar's got all those hamburgers so maybe he can withstand the pain and land a fatal blow.

Vernon and Osgood both held their own well against a much bigger Roy. I could easily see the Hamburglar taking down Price.

typical of the NHL. When Seguin got cheapshotted by Dmitry Kulikov he only got four games for his hit that kept Seguin out 3 weeks.

If I am OTT, I wait until Game 3. That way, Cameron has the last change and can wait for a good time when PK is on the ice without sucks like Gallagher, and then put Neil and a couple other guys out there. And since the punishment should fit the crime, Neil breaks his Sherwood on PKs arm, then beat the snot out of him.

Not that I am a believer in vigilateism, or an "eye for an eye" :nono:

I watched that play over and over, and while I'm a Habs fan and perhaps I'm a bit biased, it didn't seem malicious to me. A slash, yes, a five minute misconduct, maybe, but I thought the game misconduct was a bit of a stretch. I watched Kreider slide into Kerry Price last year skates first ending his playoff run. Ten year old kids learn how to fall properly so as not to injure another player. Shit happens in the playoffs.

subban essentially chased the kid down as soon as he got over the boards.

Cameron won't do anything and neither will Neil. It's the POs and the Sens know that they've got their hands full with Montreal anyhow. You don't handicap yourself by going headhunting in the POs.

Especially after you've said you're going to do it.

Kerry Frasier explained this yesterday. Under the current rule, if a 5 is assessed because of an injury, the game is automatic. No discretion for referee.

I think the focus will remain on hockey and not devolve into silliness.

I know I am in the minority, but generally the uglier the game gets the less interested I become. Scrums after every whistle, cheap shots, frequent fights, etc detract from the game IMO.
