by the looks of it the Chiefs railroaded the Skins and got railroaded by the Rams

Since botching signing KC a couple years ago the skins did the best thing they could considering the situation they put themselves in by not wanting to pay one of their own in the first place. An aging band-aid QB that has similarities to the one they let walk to keep em from going 4-12 next two seasons till they find another replacement. In other words,,, the Redskins merry-go-round of QB's will continue as usual because our front office hasn't a clue to building a team.

Apples and oranges imo. There was great demand for Alex Smith with several teams trying to trade for him. That's why the Skins had to give up so much to get him. OTOH, there wasn't nearly as much demand for Peters, and that's why the Rams paid relatively little for him.

And of all the teams interested in Smith. The Skins were the only team offering a long term deal I read. Smith is a legit NFL starter so he's not coming uber-cheap, but even after having his best season of his career. He's still a 34 year old who's arguably bordering on journeyman territory going to a 3rd team in his career. He's been injured multiple times, season ending I believe, and he had an absolutely loaded supporting cast last year. Plain n simple we gave too much away imo with Fuller who's on the cusp of becoming a very good, possibly great CB himself. Particularly in light of all this supposed CB talent some posters say the Skins have.

That point was hammered home even moreso when you look at the Rams/Chiefs trade. Peters is supposed to be a #1 type CB with 19 INTs in 3 years yet it seems KC/Reid couldn't trade him to the Rams fast enough. Shit, its like they practically gave him away to the Rams considering whyat the Rams gave up.
