Amazing. Year after year, tight budget, lowish fan support and the constant threat of relocation. Yet once again off to a terrific start and looking like a very good club. It really urks the hell out of me that an organization in Tennessee knows how to run a hockey team better than the one in Toronto. Then again, the Preds aren't run by capitalist, money grubbing clowns like MLSE.

Keep up the good work Nashville :)

Great goaltending, a stud defenseman in Weber and another pretty good one in Ryan Suter, and scoring by committee up front.

Barry Trotz gets the most out of the lineup that shrewd GM David Poile provides.

agreed. Trotz should get a lot more credit when the Jack Adams voting comes around year after year for what his teams have done with what they have to work with.

The management could do better. Attendance and such...

But as stated, on the ice, Trotz is the straw that stirs the drink. There is probably something to be said for leadership from a guy like Sullivan too. Underrated warrior in my book.

Poile isn't to blame for the money woes. Remember one year he had to trade Timmonen (now considered by many to be a top ten NHL defenseman), Hartnell, let Kariya walk, and drop Vokoun? You would think that would send them to the lotto, but they are back every year. Look at all the quality players they've lost over the recent years. Zidlicky, Ellis, Arnott, but Poile keeps making smart draft choices and plugging holes, and No-Neck Trotz knows how to design a system and motivate a team.

This might sound weird, but I hope they don't move. I admire their plucky fans, and I hope they have some success in the near future. As far as fan support goes, they are running almost 95% this year... although I don't see them sustaining it throughout the year. They have a small but very devoted following, and are stuck in a small market. I think they can grow in the market though.

If they were ever forced to move, I would severely miss their traditional, in-your-face-Detroit, throwing of the catfish on the ice come playoff time. Cracks me up every time.

Trotz is one hell of a damn good coach.

Yup coaches like Trotz and Babcock are few and far between. It's pretty amazing how they have managed to keep their jobs. Most coaches are gone so fast.
