Medium well or well done for a burger, doesn't matter.

Rare/medium rare for a steak, wont eat anything too cooked. I don't like it still alive either, so in-between rare and medium rare.

I cook all my burgers well done. Not even a hint of pink. But that's because I buy my ground beef from the store. And I don't really go anywhere good and order a hamburger, so they also al cook to well.

I understand that med rare burgers are going to taste significantly better, but unless I was grinding it myself I don't trust store bought ground beef.

Edit to add that once a steak even gets to medium I start getting upset that it's ruined. But I will admit I've "ruined" many supermarket steaks since they cut them so damn thin all the time. It's hard to get a crust on the outside and red on the inside with a home grill and a steak less than an inch thick. I try to buy steaks 1 1/2 inches or even up to 2 inches thick sometimes. Or go to a retaurant with industrial salamanders or something much hotter than my gas grill.

I was at a really good restaurant that grinds the beef themselves, and I got a burger Pittsburgh rare. Thing was sofa king good, I wanted to have sex with it.

That sounds pretty damn good. Rare ground beef taste so good and literally melts when you bite into it. I've been laughed at for ordering a burger at a nicer place until it arrived and I gave out bites.

You can usually get the BEST burgers at a steakhouse!!! I do that in Vegas for Lunch at least a couple times everytime I'm there. The best one I've had was Demonico Steakhouse. Here's a pic I found online of it...I had mine nice and rare and it was SO good!!! Like an inch thick, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned...

Delmonicos is such a great restaurant.

I love the place, though I ALWAYS feel like I'm underdressed with the waiters so properly dressed lol...I'm a fan of quite a few of the Venetian/Palazzo restaurants. That's my main stomping grounds when I'm out there, I know the place like the back of my hand...Too expensive to stay there, especially for more than a couple nights, so I stay next door at Harrahs for 1/3 of the price...
