Not it wasn't. Georgia lost 3 games in 2014 and played in the Belk Bowl. there was never talk of us being a top 3 team or better than OSU.

Depends on the year and who is doing the choosing. That is the problem with today's system.

It isn't a playoff.

It's an Invitational. They can invite whomever they want and justify it however they want.

I thought it was pretty clear that Notre Dame wasn't one of the 4 best teams, but they were one of the 4 "most deserving", whatever that means.

That said, Ohio State did not have championship caliber defense this year. They eliminated themselves vs. Purdue (and it had nothing to do with Auburn).

It wasn't just that loss. The following game at home struggling hard against Nebraska and a couple of games later having real issues with Maryland added to it. Sure, maybe it was 90% purdue, but they had their issues in a few games in the second half of the season. They can forgive ugly games early in the year, but often punish late season issues.

Alabama doesn’t ignore defense. That OU offense gave us fits, and would give anyone fits, just like last year against UGA.

Bash their defense all you want, but that offense is as good as any I’ve seen in well over 40 years watching CFB.

IMO, Georgia is too big, too fast, and too talented for Texas to hang around. Alabama was lucky to get by them. Before this week, I was hoping Georgia would get Michigan and we would see a good game. I certainly had Michigan pegged wrong as they lost to a somewhat mediocre Florida team; although I will sat Dan Mullen has done a great job taking a shitty team and making them into a competitor.
