One thing to keep in mind when making lineup plans for when Choo comes back is that he was hitting .188 when he got hurt. He had an OPS of only .597.
I'm saying that based in the commitment to Prince Banny has shown, I would expect he would have to continue to be this bad for another month before any benching or even changes in the lineup were executed.
Fucking Banister, never making cha.....
oh, wait.
I'm afraid we signed him on the down side of his best years and he wins out regardless and we suck wind.

That is why I only said it was one thing to keep it in mind. It is certainly not an overwhelming factor, but something to be mindful of. It is kind of the same way with Rua's hitting against RH pitching so far this year. It is something to keep in mind, but not an overwhelming factor. It was 5 games... hardly anyone was hitting well after that Seattle series
I think his numbers were worse than most everyone's at the time. He had it really bad.Desmond's numbers were worse at the time.

I can go with that idea.I don't see why its such a bad thing or big deal to allow Rua once or twice a week take ABs against LHPs away from either Moreland or Fielder
I don't even have an issue with Fielder getting ABs against RHPs right now, bc if he's going to break out it'll be against them, plus he's better than Rua is right now against them
I understand where you are coming from completely. Just a shame that we have this big hole in the middle of the lineup. I really hope he breaks out but not seeing any reason to count on it.I think you have to believe the approximately $80 million owed weighs on the organization. And this is the season our organization may have to make a hard decision on his future with us.
This is, at least partly why I think they're going to give him every chance, plus 4 or 5, to work this out.
And finding 98 RBI from another player (s) from our options is more than daunting.

AGREEPrince should have been moved to the 8 hole probably, 5th is still too high
String some at bats together. You mean hasn't done that already. Nice try Banny.I actually like Fielder as a person on our team so it is a shame. Not sure if this was posted. I wouldn't say batting 5th compared to 4th is a huge move as it is still a power hitting position and one with RBI opportunities.
ARLINGTON -- Slumping Prince Fielder will bat fifth on Tuesday night for the first time in nearly a decade.
Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister moved Ian Desmond into the clean-up spot against Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon. Fielder will bat fifth for first time since Sept. 17, 2006, with Milwaukee.
Banister said he set the lineup, which included a day off for rookie outfielder Nomar Mazara, in hopes of a better result against Rodon. He was 1-0 with a 2.41 ERA for three career starts against the Rangers, and the White Sox had won all three games.
``He knows and we know that he needs to have better production for us,'' Banister said of Fielder. ``Whether this helps him get in that groove, who knows? What's going to help him get into that groove is to string some at-bats together.''
Fielder has been struggling most of the season. He enters play hitting .158 with a .211 slugging percentage in his last 38 at-bats. He has not homered in his last 76 at-bats.
For the season, Fielder is hitting .192 with a .280 slugging percentage. He ranks 99th out of 102 qualifiers in the American League for slugging percentage.
``Nothing different,'' Fielder said of the switch. ``Do what I always do. Keep swinging hard, maybe harder.''
