Look like Cal’s first HR went so far into the upper deck ESPN can’t even put up how far it went.

I’ve often wondered who will hit that 470-485 foot blast down the left field line and put it out of the ballpark for the first time

I don’t mean to sound like an old man but back in my day (2 days ago) they let Castillo go 120, but can’t let Evan’s event attempt like 100?

It is really odd, especially cause Castillo is in the plan for the playoff push. If Evans is a main stay in the rotation I think they may trade for a starter.

When Gilbert and Miller are back Evans has to stay in the rotation right? Send down Hancock (not that he's been bad, just Evans has been better) and then unload Castillo's contract on some other team. Use the freed up money to sign Gilbert.

We'll see. They can't just assume Miller is going to come back and be any better than he was before going on the IL.

I've said since the instant Miller went on the DL that he and Hancock will be competing for that 5th starter spot, and now Evans comes along and comports himself very well, too. It's going to be very interesting.

I feel like Gilbert/Castillo/Kirby/Woo will be a lock for 1-4.

If everybody pitches up to snuff over the next month as everybody makes their way back, I'm thinking it's going to be the 5-man rotation (IF they go with a 5-man lol):

Logan Gilbert
Luis Castillo
George Kirby
Brian Woo
Bryce Miller (and I think it will be a very close call between him, Hancock, and Evans)

And it's not out of the realm of possibility that Gilbert, Kirby, or Miller go right back on the IL after a couple of starts OR that Castillo or Woo get injured.

If Miller performs well enough to keep that 5th spot, I think the M's will keep Hancock on the 26-man if he continues to pitch well. He's got 2 options left on the year versus Evan's 4. OR they might trade Hancock in the near future.

This is going to be a crazy month in so many ways. I'm hoping they get it all sorted before June 20th because after that the schedule gets super spicy.
