I am shocked at OKC being so low at 10. Also if you told me Mavs would be at 8 preseason I would have laughed.

LOL @Cavs being behind the 76ers who are right where we all knew they would be and the Jazz writing a book on how to dominate tanking.

Back to Cavs, burn that franchise to the ground, start a new franchise just outside of Cleveland and do not name it Cleveland, black list Dan Gilbert from all properties pertaining to said franchise...PROSPER!!!

Just so a certain someone doesn't get confused, these ARE actual power rankings AND NOT the rankings of how teams did over the summer. So it's OK for you use the link provided somewhere else and say that they are "power rankings"

Strength of Schedule is the least important statistic in the NBA.

The schedule is unbalanced at all points in the season.

Timing and travelling of games is far more important, but its almost impossible to track.

You could have a well rested team play Miami fresh off a road back to back.
That team would get a boost in their SOS and maybe an easier win.

Or you could have the same team lose to the Wizards who have been off for 4 days.
That team would see the SOS plummet but the win might be harder.

Until travelling, rest, and back-to-backs are somehow evened out.
The NBA SOS is essentially useless.

Agree on SOS but it does not range much so I doubt it affects too much of the rankings, from what I have been reading point differential is pretty important in predicting future success...one of the things I used to bash the shit out of Philly :D
