Saying the team was now solid 1-9 after the deadline acquisitions has been the kiss of death.
I already said this. I think they will come around. 2 new guys = 22% change in lineup, not necessarily an instant mesh.

This is baseball. What mesh is needed? This is 1-on-1 with hitter vs pitcher.

5 hits and one was by the pitcher. Unacceptable. This offense hasn't been good for a month.

We just have way too many black holes in the lineup right now- Desmond, Profar, Mazara, Rua, DeShields, and Chirinos are all almost always easy outs. Odor connects once in a while but generally swings at way too many bad pitches. That leaves Lucroy, Elvis, Beltran, Beltre, and Mitch to do literally all of the lifting. If even just a few of those guys are off, we just have no hope of stringing together enough hits in one inning to put up anything of significance on the board.

Our situational hitting is absolute dog shit and if we're not hitting HR's, we're screwed.

Key turn of events this inning Elvis not getting to swing until 2 strikes, weird ump calls despite board anger over Profar taking and 3 swings and your out by potential lead off man. We need some breaks AND some rejuvenation of offense.

Last I heard if it is outside you take it. Oldest ump in industry is the word on this one. Mazara PH by DDJ. Yes this is something you hate to see despite numbers saying to do it. BTW. Offense is in a funk
