I'm sorry but NBC, please come up with an original idea and stop ripping off ours here in Canada. Secondly, how is ending the coverage with an outdoor game in Calgary celebrating the game in the U.S?

Geesh, Bitter McWafflepants. More hockey coverage is a terrible thing I guess

If they didn't cover it, you'd probably say you can't believe the U.S. is ignoring the Heritage Classic.

It's the NHL, I thought we were all in this together as a sport, not Canada VS the USA.

We should be promoting the sport not just Canadian teams or US based teams or East VS West.

I would have preferred Sticky Butter McWafflepants, but nicely done eloco.

/Reminds me of the Snork_McGigglepants s/n from the swamp, great poster and funny guy.

Technically they weren't really covering the HC on NBC, but since the merger went through already NBC decided to send their people to cover the game.

I'm fairly sure that Hockey Day wasn't just invented by NBC...it's been around a few years now, but this is the first time NBC is gonna do something with it. I'm pumped! Who doesn't wanna spend an entire Sunday watching hockey?!

I'm not a fan of regional coverage, but I wouldnt mind if next year NBC does regional games followed by a national game every week, but you know they wont :(

That's a lot of work. And when you think about it, most viewers that would get the regional game for NBC will probably have the ability to view their local broadcasters. So really, all it is is NBC sending in their own announcers. But, I suppose if it helps grow the game, it's good.

I like the idea but Hockey Day in America is not what it should be called. Work in Herb Brooks into that name somehow. but its great that the States is having this.

How about... Herb Brooks' Super '80s Hockey-Style Fun Party

Or for another suggestion... The Name Doesn't Fucking Matter Hockey Day

I'm pretty sure that NBC isn't covering The Classic. I'm almost positive the game is going to be on versus. Am I wrong here? That's what it says on NHL.com
