Tim Hardaway, a borderline HOF player once went 0 for 17 in a game.

Sometimes shit happens.

Looks like his shooting percentage has dropped every year. In his tenth season he would be shooting zero percent from 3.

He was the 46th pick that the Lakers got from Orlando for cash....

Did you expect us to think he was going to be the next Iverson or something?
Nope, just having fun.

well you did give him a substantial contract, picked him over Caruso, and refused to trade him for Kyle Lowry. Not like he has been viewed as some throw-away 2nd round pick anymore. 38% from the field is almost ricky rubio bad. lol. though somehow rubio is shooting better from 3.

It will be interesting to see what LeBron does at the end of his Lakers contract

he could:

1. Stay in LA. At that point- after next year- RW's contract is up- as is everyone's beside LeBron's, Davis' and THT's. He could reload in LAL once they get cap room after RW, etc. are gone. LeBron, THT and Davis would be about 100 million in salary. They could easily get off of THT's deal if they wanted- and just have LeBron and DAvis for about 90 million. The cap for 2023-24 is expected to be about 120 million- so they could get like a 25-30 million dollar player or so depending.

2. He could go back to Cleveland- and join the core of Garland, Mobley, Allen, Okoro, Markkenen. Love's deal will be up. Garland will be up for an extension- but the Cavs could get someone signed before Garland signs.

3. He could go somewhere else- if some place is loaded. Highly unlikely.

I would say its 60% stay in LAL. 30% go to Cleveland. 10% somewhere else

a lot can of course change though from now until the year after this one. Cleveland might not even want him. Gilbert and him are not exactly on great terms.

LeBron looked like it was 1v5 out there at times.

in some ways this should not surprise anyone.

even during the summer people said this was a badly put together team.

people said that the Westbrook trade was a mistake

people said the team was too old

the young guys that they have are mostly guys that have failed at other teams- reclamation projects that hteir original team deemed not valuable enough to keep around.

if the Heat thought Nunn was a guy they needed, or the Hornets thought Monk was a guy they needed they would have kept them

they got cheap when they decided not to re-sign Caruso

the older LeBron gets the more helps he needs- and this is the least amount of talent on a LeBron roster since early Cleveland days.

they might be able to get by on the offensive side most nights- but the defensive side is where the team is totally unequipped to play with even play decent basketball most nights.

The nets without Durant, Kyrie and Harris just beat them. I realize they did not have DAvis but (i) Davis seems to always be hurt, and (ii) the Nets had way more talent unavailable.

I thought that you could not truly grade the Lakers until the playoffs- but they have had one of the easiest schedules in the NBA thus far and are now 2 games under .500 --- 7 games short of the midway point.

There is over half the season left, but if they dont get it together in a hurry this season is going to be a massive failure.

and as so many people have told me so often- every LeBron James team is title or bust. Looks like this is going to be a bust of epic proportions- and the really dark thing is- they have little to no cap room, draft assets, or young players to deal to fix anything- either this year or next year.

in the last 9 games the Lakers are 3-6

their 3 wins came against:

Orlando who is terrible
OKC who is terrible
Dallas without Luka on a last second 3 pointer- and Dallas without Luka is pretty bad.

they lost games to the Bulls without LaVine and others, and the Nets without Durant, Kyrie and Harris.

LeBron during that time has played amazing- 30, 9 and 6 on above 50% shooting, and over 37 minutes a night.

Yes. Davis is out. But LBJ has to be getting frustrated.

LeBron looked like it was 1v5 out there at times.

Lets not forget that Lebron has everything to do with who is on the court with him.
Your team goes right into "win now" mode when you get Lebron. He demands it.

On top of that ..do you think they would sign Westbrook without the greenlight from LeBron.
Come to think of it ....it was lebron who got the ball rolling to get Westbrook.

In many ways (and this has been said before) ...Lebron is the defacto GM of the Lakers.

It is entertaining to see so many non-Laker fans holding up Caruso only now that he has left the team. He's a fan favorite and a solid role player and topped out at 27 years old, but suddenly his departure is the downfall of the Lakers.

The bad transaction this summer was the Westbrook trade, and that is what happens when you let the stars run your front office. It wouldn't be as bad if there was a trap door to escape that trade, but who else would take him in trade? He's a downhill force in transition and driving to the basket and largely a net negative otherwise (defense, perimeter shot, playing without the ball, etc). We all knew that and hoped he could be the guy to enable the Lakers to not drop off so much when Lebron was off the court. So far, it hasn't worked out that way. As the roster gets healthier, the team should improve, but that also diminishes Russ' usage. While probably good for the team, it proves even further the lack of value in that trade.

Not true.

I said keeping THT over Caruso was a horrendous move when they made it.

I also consistently praised Caruso as a 2 way role player who fit really well with LeBron when he was with LA.

Many others did too.

It is the Laker fans who keep trying to prop up THT’s “upside” who have this wrong.

Otherwise, yeah. The Westbrook trade was terrible too.

In years previous when Lakers fans praised Caruso, most scoffed. Dismissing THT just after his 21st birthday is premature to say the least.
