Here is the tell on the QB situation

We disagree then. I do see a benefit if there are specific things you have identified that you want you first team to work on in a live environment. Like KC to Garçon timing, short yardage situations, or anything to do with RG3s game.

i dont , a series or 2 of snaps doesnt justify the risk

Shark, I think you are wrong here. IF Cousins is the starter for game one you sit him, if the team starts him next week the starting line needs to be out there too just as a safety precaution. I don't see that happening.

Only the Redskins can make a national security issue out of the prospect of planning for a week one game with the healthy QB when we have no idea when the injured QB will actually be cleared to play again.

I guess I miss understood when you said whoever starts week one should play next week. I get the very safe plays, but if that's all your doing playing him doesn't help. I could see playing him with the starting line. They'll be playing guys who will soon be cut so his line should be able to keep him safe. Problem is you could lose a starting line man just as easy.

Im of the opinion that if Kirk is the starter going into week one, he doesnt take a single snap this weekend. Where we are screwed is the whole RG3 mess. Because say McCoy does play the entire game, and he gets hurt. Then we are forced to either put Kirk in the game, or throw the punter in at QB. I know I was just as fooled as every oneelse by Rg3's rookie year. I can admit that. But at this point we should have gone into camp with more than 3 QBs and at least considered the chance that we would have to part ways with one of them at some point.

If thats the case Im fine with it, as long as this isnt some last ditch holding pattern in hopes that Griffin can some how magically get cleared by Next Monday so that he can start in week one. I wanted to give the kid every chance to prove me wrong, I really though some where he might have it in him. But as it looks right now, Im not even sure he will ever progress beyond the level of option QB.

This is the only reason I hope they dont infact cut him. I would rather see him traded out of the Conference. I dont wish ill on the kid, but on the off chance that he is able to be fixed, I dont want it to happen in the conference, and darn sure not within the division.

Im also going to throw it out there that if griffin is released, Im not sure teams will be falling over themselves to sign him. With the constant injury risk, and the circus his signing will bring to ANY team, there is a slight chance no team wants to take on that head ache.


Although something else that just occurred to me is the team COULD opt to put him on the PUP list AFTER the 4th preseason game. If he hasn't cleared the Nuro tests and final roster cuts are made, it would

1. Free up a roster spot
2. Allow Dan to keep his toy a little longer
3. give us six weeks to figure out if Kirk or Colt are best for the team
4. Eliminate the cries of why isnt Griffin starting in the event that Kirk struggles early out in weeks 1-3.

Just a thought mind you.
