To me, it sounds like 1/$5 full guarantee if he makes the final 53 and the club has a 3 year $24 option with a $9M guarantee to exercise for 2015.
Something near that I believe.
With our future plans, this was too much $ for us to stomach.

Melton is also dealing with a recent ACL. Many lineman are never the same.

Now that Melton is gone maybe it will open the door to more negotiations with Jared Allen. The Cowboys were the other main team looking at Allen and with them spending their dough on Melton they will definitely be out of the running. I hope Seattle makes a good attempt at Allen. I think he's got lots in the tank still.

His claims about retiring are total B.S.. I think we get him on a 1-2 year deal similar to Bennett & Avril's.

If he is indeed coming back to Seattle I have to assume the mutual interest and the contract numbers are there. I believe I read somewhere that Allen was going from Seattle to visit the Cowboys, then go back home to his wife to think things over. If he is indeed coming back, that must mean that things are serious.

Yeah if he's back, then a signing looks likely. I'm not going to believe it until it actual happens, but I can't lie, I'm a bit hyped up about it.

Like signing on the dotted line serious. Looking promising.

If Allen can deal with a two year deal, we should be okay. We have a good $20M+ in cap, and Thomas is already eating up 5.5M of it with his rookie salary. So we could re-sign Thomas a bit higher (extra $3M), frontload Allen $10M this y ear, and still have $7M for rookies and agents. Wilson/Sherman might have to wait.

Where are you getting your # for cap space? Both Spot trac and Over the cap report 15 million for cap space for the Seahawks. Out of that they will need 6 million for the draft.
