So, where do my fellow Heat fans stand on the Jason Collins situation and athletes in similar situation?

Good for him. If a guy likes dudes then that's his preference. The thing is he won't have a job in the league next year. Guy was a journeyman throughout his career, but was less than protective. But kudos for him on taking the next step in his life.

Do you think the reason he wont have a job next season has to do with his coming out or other circumstances?

I don't think being gay would be the reason why no team will pick him up
He was already in the decline. But you think if any of the top 10 players in the NBA today was to come out and say he was gay would that stop any team from wanting that player? Of course not. But the media would definitely be all over his ass that's for sure.

i dont care if a player is gay. i care about what they can do on the court. although, i dont think the guy comes out as gay if he was a rookie or still trying to hang on in the league. he's 34 and had his run. now he has set himself up as a sort of hero to alot of people.. which is a smart move without any real downside.

people forget though.. Dennis Rodman said he was bisexual while he was an active player. maybe people just ignored it because it was Dennis Rodman.

Well, Bulls did not close out today like I was hoping for. I am banking on them to do so on Thursday - So I go see our boys play on Saturday. This would give the Bulls little to no practice time before game 1

Well if you watched the finals alot of the calls were going the heats way. To many flops in that series in games 3-4-5. Im not trying to hate though cause i dont hate the heat either

Not really. Plenty of calls were going both ways but in the end, the Thunder made "rookie" mistakes such as clock mismanagement and inability to get defensive stops. If any, the Bulls-Heat series last year was riddled with flops but a lot were exagerration of a foul that could have been called by the officials (owing to the physical play that the Bulls often employ).

The two best 2-man combinations (in plus minus) in Heat-Bucks series: Allen-LeBron and Allen-Andersen.

Any team that wins a series in 5 games is clearly the better team, especially if you watched that last game....but you probably didn't. The games this season weren't all that close minus Harden and without Westbrook you can only imagine how much offensive firepower OKC has lost. Durant and Martin are the only players that should be watched out for and the latter will rarely go off like Westbrook has done in the past.

On a separate note, I unfortunately had a chance to watch ESPN shortly after the Heat won. The Spurs sweep the Lakers and they're lauded for what they've accomplished. The Heat do it and Bill Simmons (Celtics homer) and Magic Johnson find negatives about it saying we'll be rusty going into the next series. Magic saying that the Heat need to watch out because the Bulls hate the Heat was probably the most laughable view regarding this potential series from an "analyst" point of view.

Well any team that gets 10-12 more foul calls is gonna win the finals.. lol. Thats a potential 20-24 points.

I guess the fact that Miami is known for driving to the basket has nothing to do with that. I'm sorry, I generally throw facts at people when making my arguments.....facts that make sense that is. But I digress.

Btw Hambombs, the Heat beat the Bucks in their own home w/out Wade in an elimination game. The Bucks are not the better team. Get over it.

OKC avg 22 fouls per game in the finals and Miami avg 20 fouls so on avg Miami were getting 2 more fouls.

Before you talk crap, it would be nice if you actually look up some facts

I like the fact that the Heat took care of business and more importantly Wade gets a chance to heal up....but damn.

Yeah a week is ridiculous especially if the Bulls are done their series on thursday. Obviously I understand starting it on Monday if the Bulls series go 7 but this break is now pretty ridiculous. I hope they're getting some practice games in because being off a week is something that never happens in the regular season.

The only bright spot I can take in this is that rust will usually last for a half of basketball. While rest will go alot longer. But there's no black and white when it comes to the playoffs. There's pros and cons with everything.
