Going into today I said the Heat would finish the deal as would the Spurs and that the Fakers would be gone today as well... Things are playing out that way so far. That Denver vs GS game can go either way

Did showstopper ever make it on this board? He must be sad about his LA Fakers... he could be turning into a Heat fan again within the next 3+ minutes that are left in LA’s season

Fuck I just realized that with our win today and advancing to the second round that I will no longer get local broadcast for games only for pre and post game shows.

On one-hand it is a good thing because I dont have to listen to Coach Fiorentino for an entire game because he can be a bit of a homer more times than not... Hopefully, the Heat continue to take care of buisness and leave the national media with little or nothing for them to criticize them for.

I hope you're kidding. The Heat have owned the Thunders this past year (including Finals) and that was while they still had Harden. Kevin Martin isn't even close to the player that Harden is. If anything the Westbrook injury just favors the Spurs to go to the Finals. But the Warriors have an outside chance, sucks that they lost Lee.

Well if you watched the finals alot of the calls were going the heats way. To many flops in that series in games 3-4-5. Im not trying to hate though cause i dont hate the heat either

So does brandon Jennings still think they can win the series in 5 games ?

Great win today.. Good to see them get almost a week off to rest up.. I really wish we would end up against the Nets next round. Even tho Chicago is without Rose, that team still turns it on. Nate seems to be playing well as of late.. But I guess if we are going to win it all, we are going to want to go through the best of teams, just prepare us for the Finals.

I honestly think we will handle the Bulls in 5 and maybe the nets in 4.

In the Bulls series we'll hold serve at home, maybe lose game 3 then win games 4 & 5.

Any team that wins a series in 5 games is clearly the better team, especially if you watched that last game....but you probably didn't. The games this season weren't all that close minus Harden and without Westbrook you can only imagine how much offensive firepower OKC has lost. Durant and Martin are the only players that should be watched out for and the latter will rarely go off like Westbrook has done in the past.

On a separate note, I unfortunately had a chance to watch ESPN shortly after the Heat won. The Spurs sweep the Lakers and they're lauded for what they've accomplished. The Heat do it and Bill Simmons (Celtics homer) and Magic Johnson find negatives about it saying we'll be rusty going into the next series. Magic saying that the Heat need to watch out because the Bulls hate the Heat was probably the most laughable view regarding this potential series from an "analyst" point of view.

Every national sports network has their clowns as commentators - Bill Simmons, and sadly, Magic Johnson are at the top of the list in that regard for ABC/ESPN... But, Charles Barkley has set the bar really high

Yeah Magic Johnson is pretty bad. I don't think Barkley is that bad. I hate the ESPN guys in general in terms of their studio guys. I don't mind their actual commentators but the pregame/halftime show is painful. I prefer to listen to the TNT studio guys much more.

Thankfully this year the ECF is on TNT instead of espn.

You are right, their commentators are okay... The pre and post game show guys are a disaster

I like the TNT guys as well. Barkley got pretty bad with the Heat during the initial part of the Big 3 era. But he's cooled down since and sounds realistic. He'll call it like it is though.

Paolo, I won't be going to any of the 2nd round games. I hope to be in Miami within the next month or so.....we'll see.

So, where do my fellow Heat fans stand on the Jason Collins situation and athletes in similar situation?
