Like I said.......Watson may end up being hired, but if Minnesota's AD flew to Lincoln and talked to Watson and decided on the spot to hire him, then he is a damn dumbshit.

Hiring a new head coach is a process........not just a 1 day decision.

I was the first one to say Frost's name last year when Watson was looking around. Not sure that he is reading to be OC yet though.

Watson is barely Minnesota's 10th choice. But then again Nebraska hired their 50th choice when they got Callahan so you never know. There are too many big name guys out there. Like Mike Leach, Jim Leavitt, Phil Fullmer, Mike Bellotti, Mark Mangino. Maybe a big time school finally gives Kevin Sumlin, Al Golden, or Pat Hill a try.

Cannot buy Watson as a head coach candidate for a BCS school this year. Two years ago when the passing game was thriving, then maybe, but not after the last two years. Minnesota has said they want a big splash, and this is not a splash.

I think Leach will be announced within two weeks, depending on how quickly they can comply with the interview requirements. With Leach, the new division will be really nutty. We will see MI and NE playing a spread option, MSU playing a prototypical protypical pro style, MINN playing the air raid, NW playing a MIZZOU style spread, and IOWA playing a physical run game. I do not envy the DC in this scenario.
