When guys get to be that age they want that last big payday. Some bottom feeder will overpay to show their fanbase they are making an effort.

any word on how much $$ he was looking for? It's a really deep CB free agent market this season, I wonder what he can get.

I think he just wanted to get ahead of the Urlacher type offer. Bears think they pay someone 50 million over their career they get the final year for 2 million.

Moving forward, changes need to be made. We are stuck with jennings for 4 years, and I think Jennings biggest attribute is physicality, so maybe some bump and run will happen this year and they wont line up the cornerbacks at the first down markers anymore.

Tillman took what he thought he was worth.

Its good that the new regime isn't going to be held hostage to the past, simply paying for what a player has done. Peanut certainly still has value but at what cost? Who seen the decline in Peppers? Now it would seem that Peanut still has more left in the tank than Urlacher did. It was obvious when Lach decided to nix the vikings offer that he knew he didnt have anything left. Peanut wants to play and feels he will get some offers from other teams and probably will. Is he worth the 3-4 year contract some team will over pay for him? I hope he stays and I hope he doesn't expect the moon from the Bears

They are playing a sound bite from Lawrence Holmes interview where he said he wants to retire a bear. Some took it as he is gonna retire, others took it as the basic one day contract to be allowed to retire a chicago bear, after he finishes his career elsewhere. This morning on the score, he verified it was the latter. I dont know what say Lovie is gonna have with personnel, but that is his fit. Tampa probably has to get off revis island to make it happen though.

I would be very, very surprised if Tillman wound up in Tampa. Tampa gave up a fortune to get Revis, plus they drop a draft round (in terms of which pick NY gets) if he's not on their roster this year. He didn't play badly, and it is hard to imagine Lovie wanting to downgrade to an older, worse cornerback just because it makes a nice fan story in the papers. And the other CB, Banks, is a very solid CB. Given that Tampa has needs all over the team other than CB, why would they fork over several million for a third CB? It just makes no sense.
