I read on another message board that the Isles could offer Niemi a contract within the next couple of days & they might trade Roloson to Edmonton. Has anyone else heard or read anything about this scenario?

I haven't heard anything about that possible scenario, but I doubt Roloson would be on board for a trade back to Edmonton (he was pretty choked that the Oilers wouldn't give him a longer term contract).

I don't see why Edmonton wouldn't have interest in Niemi. Their two young guys were thrown to the wolves last year. Then again I don't know the Oilers cap situation. Penner & Horcoff have big contracts. It would make a lot of sense for them to add a vet between the pipes.

The Oilers have plenty of cap space, but they're also waiting on the availability of the Bulin wall, who might be spending some time in an Arizona pokey due to an extreme DUI charge.
