it's intriguing that they signed turco to a contract only 1 million less than what niemi could be had for. basically this is just them saying they'd rather keep bolland/sharp than niemi, because i feel like that was the trade off there.
that's exactly the trade-off.
(it's $1.45m difference, btw).
I wonder if this was part of the Sharks plan when they signed Hjalmarsson to the offer sheet?? They said goodbye to Nabakov. Will they say hello to Niemi?? I think the answer is YES!!

i thought turco's deal was 1.75? and Niemi was offered 2.75?

i think turco is gunna have a good season and many teams will be upset they didnt get him.. just a hunch
also.. paul holmgren has gotta be kicking himself for signing leighton to 1.55 before free agency started.. niemi at 2.75, mason at 1.85, biron at 875k, ellis at 1.5.. id take all those combinations of contract/player over leighton at 1.55
I can't agree. Turdo sucks. Here's a sample of what you get with him:
Nice, Now I will have a four hour erection and visit the emergency room with blurred vision.
Question for the guys (or gals if you want to chime in) . If you take an ED med and get a four hour steamer how the hell can you walk into an emergency room without raising attention?
WTF !!
If boners last more than 4 hours find more women
I certainly HOPE he stinks in Chicago, but I think he has a year of two left. last season seemed like a aberration.
the youtube clip is a bit unfair.... do you define Dan Boyle by his most recent spot on the highlight reel?
damn, it pains me to defend turco.
I have the same hunch. just seemed like a fresh start would do him good after the clusterfuck that was dallas' season last year.
that list of goalies sure makes the $1.5m that NJ paid to a 37 year old Johan Hedberg look expensive (especially for sitting behind Marty for 70 games).
I am surprised that Chi walked away at that price. well, there's the ~$3m contract they needed to get rid of (instead of Bolland or Sharp). Its going to be interesting to see what he signs for elsewhere, as that seemed like a favourable award for Chi.
