I love the look of disdain that you get from the barkeep...40 screens showing either beisbol or basketball and you can't put one tv on the hockey game

Pittsburgh is great anymore. Penguins are easily more popular than the Pirates, and I was VERY surprised that the Pens trumped Pitt basketball/March Madness at the bars I went to this year. Even when Steelers/Pens play at the same time (rare anyway), a couple of TVs will have the Pens. I don't really have a frame of reference because I wasn't old enough to drink back in the dark days, but I'm going to guess that Carson City was handing out drink specials for every time the Penguins scored (though it would have been infinitely cheaper back then).

Oh, and every dive/local sports bar that I've been later at night this past week has been playing the West Coast games on versus, which was again, surprising.

Its a commonly known fact that there is no such thing as a ******* hockey fan outside of the city of Ft. Lauderdale. If you ever get a chance to attend a game there you should. ******* fans are always outnumbered by the snowbird fans of the visiting team. Its quite the laughable experience. And yes, I attended games other than Pens games when I lived there. Hell of a venue though...
