I purchased the 2003 version off of itunes about a week ago. Already on the 1910's. It's a really interesting book, I would recommend it to any baseball fan. I wish i got the 2010 version, it'd be really cool to read about players i'm super familiar with. I don't know about you guys, but i think bill james is a fucking genius.

I've got the latest edition. Yeah, you have to be careful. It's impossible to put down once you crack it open.

smarther, it is a pretty good book. some of the 1880-1920 coverage can get a little long, but nonetheless it's a great read

Considering that's my favorite era of baseball to read about, I love the longwindedness of those chapters.

i mean it's interesting reading the stuff, but i feel like i forget 50% of the stuff after i read it with those chapters, namely the not well known players of that era
