According to the reports today that is untrue. If they are on the PUP going into camp the restriction isn't there. They can return at any time. If they go on the list after camp starts there are restrictions. It is my understanding he was on the list prior to the official start of camp so he can return any time.

You are on the right track. PUP list for the training camp is different than the regular season PUP list. During training camp you can come off of it at any time. But if it carries over to the regular season then it changes.

No need to freak out seattle fans. Wait for more info. As a niner fan, i want you at full force for when we kick your butts week 2 :suds:

This is not good. Not good at all. I was at training camp and watching Harvin closely. Dude looks like hes limping a little just taking steps.

I'm hearing best case scenario 6-8 weeks, which means if he gets surgery immediately he'll be back late Sept and early Oct which is about week 5 to 7 of the regular season

Worst case scenario is 4-6 months which is probably the whole regular season with a possible return week 17 or in the playoffs

I can't speak for all 9ers fans...just myself. I personally would let go of ESPN and comments made there. No real fan of this game would be happy of any player injuries. As a fan of the game and a division rival ,we want your 'A' game with no excuses that can be used. Wishing Percy a speedy recovery.

A little side note....

I don't wish injury upon anyone, even my most hated rivals... but that said I'm not going to shed a tear that Von Miller might miss the game between the Broncos and Giants.

Eh it's a classy post and all but get real.

End of day wins matter and injuries don't. Do I WISH an injury on a specific player? Well YAH, if he's good enough. Do I want it to affect his family or livelihood, of course NOT. That's disgusting, but these guys get paid MILLIONS of bucks, more than 95%+ of America will ever earn. I have no sympathy if they earn $5+ mil and exit the league. Face it, the BIG names are all anyone posts about. Nobody cares about the backup long snapper that gets injured because it barely gets reported.

That all said, yah. I'm happy Crabtree is injured for the year because a) He's already getting paid a ton anyway, b) this is not a life altering injury, he can still have kids, enjoy time with kids, live a fulfilling life, but c) it helps my team win.

NFC West non Seahawk fans/team should be ecstatic that Percy Harvin is injured, just like most people were ecstatic Crabtree was injured. I'm just one of the few that has the balls to say it.

Harvin, Crabtree are both big time threats. Their injuries were non-life threatening and both should be back this season or next... we're not talking about a life changing injury. OH NO, MICHAEL CRABTREE AND PERCY WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2014 TO GET THAT GOLD PLATED POOL INSTEAD OF 2013! I SEE A FAMILY WITH NO GOLD PLATED POOL IN THEIR FUTURE... get real folks. Meanwhile the construction worker falls off a high beam and dies leaving his wife with $10,000. UGH.

Society is stupid.

I'm reading the comments section on ESPN and Viking fans and 49er fans are rejoicing over the injury calling it Seattle karma

really though?

But in regards to the actual injury...I hope this only results in him missing some pre-season games...at the most 6 games in the regular season

Ahh...losing Irvin AND Percy for the first part of the year...that's going to be a lot to overcome especially if we want home field advantage...

Not me...I like Harvin and Rice, but they have always been injury prone. It's a bummer if Harvin is out 6 weeks because he is a playmaker when he's on the field.

He will likely need surgery... My wife partially tore her labrum and even after staying off it, it just kept tearing .... and even after surgery, it has never been the same.

Some people come back.. some don't.. but people are usually never 100% after it.

I think the larger issue for Seattle is Harvin is if he's going to be a durability concern the rest of the contract.

As much as I hate giving credibility to a 49ers fan for a good post, he hit it right on the head with this.

This is honestly my biggest worry. The Seahawks gave him a monster contract and although Harvin is a much better player than Deion Branch when healthy, I really don't want to see another Branch repeat.

My concern is more long-term than short term, as it's not like the Seahawks offense needs Harvin to function, but in the future once Golden Tate's contract expires and Sidney Rice either restructures or gets cut Harvin's presence will be much more important to the offense than it is now.

We all knew this was a risk/reward type move considering his injury history. Even with this setback, I still think it was a great moving trading for Harvin and I believe this will payoff in the long run. Here's to a speedy recovery!

Yup this blows. smfh. Especially considering Percy Harvins best asset is his shiftiness and Yards after the catch.

I just read the 2nd opinion comes Tuesday.

I have read the team doctor has recommended surgery and also heard that he hasnt recommended surgery. Not really sure what to believe. Its just hearsay at this point. Im just hoping for the best obviously.

Let's just wait and see what he final decision is. But many need to remember this is the same team that we had last year and our roster was thick. Then we absolutely killed it in FA and the Draft.

If Harvin isn't available this year. Sucks. But this is still a team with a Top5 roster and quite capable of getting to and winning a SB.

Relax and take a look at this roster again. We're going absolutely throttle much of our schedule this year.

It sounds like the odds the surgery is going to happen but the million dollar question is how long will he be out for.

I know not having Harvin isn't going to suddenly ruin Seattle's offense but losing him for the season or an extended amount of time is a big blow to their offense.

He was going to be the guy that you could line up and use in different ways and create headaches and fear for opposing.

Rice, Tate, and Baldwin is a good solid group but that's about it. Wilson will make it work with them like last season but none of those guys will keep defensive coordinators up at night like a healthy Harvin would.

That's what I hearing also. Basically the Seahawks Doc fells he can do without surgery and Harvin just wants a second option to verify.

field gulls has a fantastic article on this.

Guessing he missess half of the season with a 91% chance that he comes back 100%

The only other likely option is that he just really wants to miss some training camp.
