6 years?? Seriously......6 years??!! :frusty:

Yeah...I know...I know....the length keeps the cap hit lighter and that asshole happier, but there is NO WAY he can ride G's coattails for that full length of time without exposing himself for the piece of shit that he really is.

IMO, last year was a fluke. He'll be back to taking dumb penalties at the absolute worst times and falling all over the ice like a drunk retard as soon as this season kicks off.

worse case scenario-he drops to 2nd or 3rd line and gets to go with Schenn or Coots.I still see him at no less than 25 goals per year with either.IMO he would probably benefit not playing on top line,as he wouldn't see as many top d-men pairings.

6 at 4.75 I could live with. I'm kinda with Tox though, how much was him and how much was G and Jagr pulling defenders away from him in the slot I couldn't say.

They definitely created room for him, but I think his shot(accuracy & release) improved so much from work he was doing himself. It's a good deal given some other weaker F's around the league getting more $.

Not so brave prediction: looks fine for next 2-3 years. Will look like shit after that.

Makes me even happier about Neal's contract.

Makes me even happier about Neal's contract.

I'm not understanding this part.

You're glad that you're paying slightly more for a younger player who looks so far to be comparable to Scott Hartnell? I know Neal had a breakout year last year but he literally saw as much premium playing and PP time as possible where as Harts was in the doghouse for most of the first month in Philly(that month could have bridged the points gap). Also Harts calmed down a lot with the nonsense last year(while still standing up for his team and fighting his own battles) and you didn't see him running guy's heads in the playoffs which is a huge plus in my eyes.

I had a lot of respect for Neal & remember saying how good of a pick-up by the Pens he was. That was before the playoffs last year, but him resorting to taking runs at Cooter and Giroux 's heads ended that quick.
