Now...that is a fair point in that there is no understanding of the Dodgers intent or what they are offering. That "grey space" totally lets Boras work the rumor mill.

At this point (provided the team thinks they have made the best good faith offer and have conceivable hitching points ironed out) I would hope the team digs in and rests on their offer. Boras would have him miss most of April if it could land, say the the difference between 320 and 330 (second or first biggest contract ever).

I agree. There will be other FA's next year. They could sign some of the guys left, some who happen to be pretty good, reinforce our pitching staff, and load up for Mike Trout. I am pretty sure Trout won't play these games. He is the best player in BB and should be paid as such.

i don't think you need to set a deadline, he's going to sign at some point this week. this is the number take it or leave it.

trout will get his money from everyone, need to make sure there's a team here that's ready to compete, that's what will take him out of Anaheim.

I think all three teams mentioned have a shot. Maybe he stays out west, but I have always thought he wanted to play on the east coast. Just my opinion.

That’s exactly what this is about. That’s why someone hires Boras. This is his playbook to a T.

All the talk about how maybe Bryce doesn’t want to come to Philly is just not something I’ve not felt a response to. It’s not about that. When you are talking a deal to make over 1/4 of a billion dollars those things don’t matter.

But your agent is going to drag it all the fuck out to make sure every penny possible is getting written in. He will spread rumors like a 14 year old cheerleader. He will thrive for you in the age of Twitter.
