Their rationale for why the ChiSox would do that is way off base

Lucroy is an interesting option at catcher though

I'm with ya on the catching position for sure. A hole which needs to be filled for 2016. Lucroy/Chirinos would be a pretty nice tandum.

I could see the Sox letting Sale go, and had read a few articles expressing concern over his delivery. But, good heavens what would they want back, for a great pitcher (for now anyway), with an very attractive, team friendly contract?

I saw this yesterday as well and just took that article with a grain of salt.

Oh, for sure, it's fodder.

I found it interesting re: catching mostly.

Now as far as going after a Chris Sale, can't imagine they'd even talk to us if we didn't agree up front to include Alfaro or Gallo. And that's just to get the ball rolling.

Rangers' Prince Fielder drives in two All Star runs

Rangers DH Prince Fielder went 1 for 1 with a sacrifice fly in Tuesday's All Star Game.

Fielder drove in two runs in the game, becoming the first Ranger with a pair of All Star RBI since Michael Young in 2006. Fielder has six RBI in his last three All Star Games.

I don't know where that ranks in the grand game, but it sounds pretty impressive to me.

If he had two more ab's he probably had a good chance at mvp.

JULY 15: The Rangers have requested unconditional release waivers for Detwiler after he rejected an outright assignment, tweets Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

As a player with more than five years of big league service, Detwiler has earned the right to reject his minor league assignment without having to forfeit the remaining $1.55MM of his 2015 salary. The Rangers will remain on the hook for that amount, less the pro-rated portion of the league minimum for any time he spends on another club’s active roster.

If there’s a silver lining on Detwiler’s rough season, it’s that he’s still held left-handed hitters in check quite well. Same-handed batters have posted a meager .220/.283/.317 batting line in 46 plate appearances versus Detwiler this season. Over the course of his career, he’s held them to a similarly weak .232/.305/.301 line. Perhaps, then, a club in need of left-handed relief help will show interest in Detwiler once he officially becomes a free agent.

Yeah, we don't need any LH relief help. We are awesome in that department. But I will say Freeman has looked much better lately.

Plus his SAC fly was a laser shot out just to the left of CF. I was hoping it would make it over the CFers head for a double and then they would have had no choice but to make him MVP.

Hopefully the HR Derby helped his HR swing and not hurt it

I'll have to look at his previous numbers from when he participated, but I don't think it has before. Looked like the same approach he's had all year in the ASG.

Just can't figure out Jon Edwards. Has good stuff, leads PCL in saves but put him in big situations and he turns to garbage like pitching at the MLB level and in tonight's All Star game. Comes in with a 3-1 lead in the 9th and walks the first guy on 4 pitches, hits the 2nd, base hit to 3rd, strikes out the 4th on full count pitch then gives up 2 run single and is yanked.
