$3 mil is hardly SP pay. I could see your point if he were getting 6+, but he wasn't.

He was Arbitration 3 this off season after move to TEX ... after being only an RP since 2012. TEX is paying him only $500k less than Colby. You compare Colby at $4mil and Detwiler at $3.45mil. Not even close.

Detwiler comes from a long line of spare NL pitchers TEX has brought on ... a line broken by Gallardo (and an extent Wandy) ... but I have no faith in spares from the NL who couldn't hack it there. Especially from the Cubs.

Colby is in a unique position due to his health issues. Not an apples to oranges comparison. Definitely don't need more Cubs pitchers though.
