Damn I am feeling old now. I remember watching Cuddyer play when he was a teenager.

I talked to Michael on several occasions when he played in the minors. He went back down to Calgary after his first couple of major league homers and I asked him about them when they played the ICubs. He is a collector and has both of the baseballs. He told me his first one cost him a signed bat and I told him I'd have given it to him for a signed ball. He asked if I had a pen, grabbed a shag ball and signed it for me.

Right now it's not looking like anyone will make it. The lack of votes for Hudson is pretty surprising, I think he deserves more consideration than falling off this quickly.

Yeah. Looks like Rolex and Schilling are all but in at this point. Neither are no-brainers, but I am ok with both.

And there is absolutely no baseball reason to not vote the same way for Bonds and Clemens. While I don’t agree with those who vote no for them, as long as they are consistent, I get it.

While the 2021 ballot announced Monday features former All-Stars such as Torii Hunter, Tim Hudson, Mark Buehrle and Barry Zito, none of its first-timers is an obvious Hall of Famer. Some interesting names on the list.
The full list of first-timers on the ballot, in alphabetical order by last name, is as follows:

Mark Buehrle, A.J. Burnett, Michael Cuddyer, Dan Haren, LaTroy Hawkins, Tim Hudson, Torii Hunter, Aramis Ramirez, Nick Swisher, Shane Victorino and Barry Zito.

Will any of these guys get in this year? How many will not make 5%?

I think Buehrle gets in eventually but not first year or even close to that
