Not everyone with torn acl's need carted off of the field. Usually the ones carted off tear up much more.

Alabama had a punter about 10 or 15 years ago that punted the second half of a season with a torn ACL.

Might mean that he will come back next year. As teams will be weary of taking him in the 1st round unless he comes back next year, and shows he can play whole season, and hasn't lost anything from the acl.

Even if healthy, probably wouldn't go 1st rd anyway. NFL teams are starting to stray away from drafting RB's in the 1st round. No need to, some of the best RB's in the NFL weren't 1st rounders (Jamaal Charles, DeMarco Murray, Arian Foster, etc).

These college players need to threaten to strike over that crap rather than a lil more beer money. If a player is over 18 and feels he is ready then they should get that opportunity period. If it doesn't work out then by all means CFB should welcome them back with open arms.
