Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Jon Gruden on ESPN: "If I were a coach, I'd offer a first-round pick to the Redskins to get Kirk Cousins on my team."

Since when does the coach make trade offers? Also, that's the first time I've ever heard John Gruden not use the word "football" in a sentence. It must be due to Twitter's limitation on characters? Normally he'd say "If I were a coach in the National Football League, I'd offer a first-round pick to the Redskins to get Kirk Cousins on my football team. He's a helluva football player."

I believe there was a point in time where Mel Kiper said that Matt Cassell was worth trading the #1 overall pick for because he was proven

And that is why he is in the broadcast booth...... But why give up a first for Cousins..... If we are to take Grudens word on QB they are all going to be stars I have seen his QB camp.

I guess when they're Mike Shanahan, Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll, Jeff Fischer or Andy Reid ?
And numerous others in the past who held front office positions while being head coach..

Gruden shoots his mouth off all the time, now that he is in the booth. I like the guy, but sometimes his mouth writes checks his ass can't cash.

This is why Gruden was never a General Manager.

...Or was he?

Why does this surprise anyone? The last year he was in Tampa Bay I'm fairly certain he had 5 or 6 QBs on his preseason roster.

I don't believe so, but if he was, he didn't do a very good job. He took over a team good enough to win a Super Bowl in his first year and they haven't won a playoff game since.

Jon Gruden said I was the best QB he's ever seen in the National Football League. I don't even play QB in a rec sports flag football league.

Somewhere, at some point in time, Gruden will find a player who isn't great and whom he doesn't want on his team.

A football player? For his football team in the National Football League?

Here's how I am able to take Jon Gruden and it's two words that will make you realize that he's not so bad after all.

Ready?

The longer Grudden stays in the booth, the more he's got make these silly comments to keep his name out there and stir up drama for ratings. It's why his "QB camps" are becoming massive prescripted fluff pieces.
