*Alert* Many of you will see this as hating

Jay when talking about Smith, kinda has that look of a man who has been married for a few years, and realizes... this might not be what I signed up for.

When he first started, and he talked about Bob, he had fire and excitement.

When they first made the switch to Kirk.... he had fire and excitement

Now... he kinda looks like this guy when he talks...

I laughed. That's funny as shit. Can't say its plausible though as I rarely watch press conferences preferring instead to read them especially after a loss.

I will say, and this is no disrespect to Cousins, that I didn't blame Jay for being public about not wanting Cuz under another 1 year contract. That's a ridiculous way to be expected to coach and has to have some ill effect on a team as a whole in general.

He's gotta be excited about having someone QBing for more than a season. Than again, I'm of the same mind as G. I can easily see Gruden being shown the door after the 2018 season. So he may just have a season with Smith as well.

agreed, especially because he can pick Smith's mind about this:

How the Chiefs exploit defenses | Xs & Os w/ Geoff Schwartz, Ep. 2

YouTube

That is a good and interesting look at how Reid was using his offense at the beginning of the season. They kiey is that was published in early Sept. The Chiefs were hot, Kareem Hunt was hot and they looked unstoppable. You have to remember things also slowed down for the Chiefs after the first 5 or 6 games. That happened for a couple of reasons Defenses caught up to what Andy was doing, injuries on the Chiefs defense Now I am not nay saying because as much as we talk about QBs coming from option based offenses in college these ideas are becoming more and more prevalent in the NFL. Gruden also used a bit of zone read option in his offense. I think we will see more of that with Smith here as compared to Cousin's. He is more proficient than Cousin's at this style of offense. RPO ought to be something we here more about next year with Smith under center.
