Man, another failed thread by the OP.

This is the one way I can kind of compare Gronk to another athlete, Lebron. Lebron goes to the hoop and gets hacked a lot on plays that most athletes would be on the floor and sometimes he doesn't get the call. Gronk can take a hit like a champ bc he is strong big and strong. Some illegal hits could be called legal bc of his size. The guy can take some big hits and go back in the next play when most players couldn't also but calling Gronk a pussy is outrageous lol.
I like Gronk, but that is a horrible comparison.

I don't think they have declared it season ending yet. The expected recovery time is 8 weeks and the Super Bowl is 9 weeks away. So they could keep him on the roster in the hopes that he could be a huge addition for the Super Bowl. They have already used their short term IR so that is out of the question just a matter of if they want to risk having him inactive all those weeks and taking up a roster spot.

They ain't going to no SB without that guy

It isn't a player comparison it is a size comparison. Gronk is one of the biggest and fastest guys out there and he can take some hits most couldn't.

Sometimes, a great player or not, you just can't stay healthy especially if you have reoccurring injuries. That's a bitch

Lol

Lebron?

Lebron has missed 65% of the games in his career ?

Dude is soft as fuck. Sunday when I was at the game, even a Pats fan admitted to me that Gronk is a little bitch.
He's definitely injury prone, but he's the best football player in the NFL imo, so normally we take the good with the bad and minimally complain. This fuckin sucks though.

^^^ Like I said, some great players just can't stay healthy, it doesn't mean he is a pussy lol.

They have to keep him until the season ends, he is still worth the roster spot this year.
I don't think they will keep him after that.
A shame but that's the way it goes.

Gronk's nowhere near being a pussy. Players will come to a point where they will have to have surgery, because football is a brutal sport and you're gonna get hurt. That's how it goes.

It has been a number of things but like I said when it is reoccurring injuries it is so hard to shake them. Some players are more fortunate. It has been mainly back and hamstring issues...ohh and a torn ACL/MCL can get you good.

Without him they are still the odds on favorite to go.
Exactly.

The Patriots got all the pieces in place, even without Gronk. They got a stout defense, a veteran kicker, a bruiser running back (Blount), and of course, a future HOF quarteraback, Tom Brady. Not many teams have all those pieces, not counting the Raiders and the Cowboys. All they gotta do is win.

They dont have a stout defense, first of all

Second of all, since Gronk has entered the league, they havent been able to win without him

I'm not sure I agree with that. I would say the really good teams have about 3 players that they cannot lose or they see a huge drop off in production. Gronk is one of those for the Pats. He is worth a touchdown a game more when he plays. So that is like the Pats going from a top-6 offense in scoring to now 25th in the league. They don't have a defense that can make up that kind of difference this year in my opinion.

I would say this moves the Raiders up with the Chiefs and Broncos not too far behind the Patriots now. Also have to wonder if they see another December collapse like last year that cost them that home field.

ESPN NFL Live has just spent 10-15 minutes of their on air time of 40 so far still drooling over New England and Gronk....

Well he is that big of a star in this league. Heck he is the face of Madden right now. This is the type of injury that shakes up the entire playoff race possibly. I mean with Gronk the Patriots looked like the clear best team in the AFC. Without Gronk I at least feel much better about the chances of beating them here in a few weeks and then in the playoffs even if we have to go to Gillette.
