Grimm v Dempster Game 1 @ BOS

Dempster hasn't faced many TEX batters ... AJ has had the most success.

Dempster has lost 3 of his last 4 games ... and in 3 of 4 not getting to the 6th inning. Dempster's longest recent outing was 7.0IP (98p) in a loss to PHL. Worst recent outing was 4.2IP (127p) in a loss to MIN.

IMO ... Dempster remains a NL pitcher and doesn't do well when he doesn't have a book on hitters he faces. TEX batters would be well served to make him throw up in the strike zone with long ABs especially in the early innings. Make him show them all his pitches.

Went back and looked ... yes ... 6 walks, 8 hits. Threw 56 fastballs only 30 for a strike... 26 sliders, 12 for a strike ... 28 sliders, 19 for a strike.

Incredulous that MIN pitching was actually worse. Dempster left with a 2 run lead! Just don't think I've ever seen anyone throw 127 pitches in 4.2 ... and not factor in the decision.

Would be great for TEX batters to repeat MIN strategy tonight.
