According to Chris Mortensen the Rams are to hire Gregg Williams as their new DC. This is excellent news!

Greg Williams is the reason we didn't gobble up Jim Scwartz, another member of Fisher's coaching staff at Tennessee.

Fisher is one loyal dude!

I love this idea... bountygate or not, dude is one hell of a defensive coach. #1 defense in the NFL stays in the NFC West in 2014!!!

I like it.
Walton was awful and Fisher knows it. At the end of the season JT said that Fisher had completely taken over Defensive play calling and duties. Walton was pretty much an assistant at that point. Williams will be better than Walton so I'm fine with an upgrade at the position. Hopefully everyone stops regressing.

Nice move Jeff Fisher. Gregg Williams can flat out coach, I don't care what anyone says. Look for the Rams to sure up their secondary now at NO cost. Very exciting news!

I think we're all in agreement on this one for a change. Of course Mickey Mouse would have been an upgrade over Walton. And I'm with you Vitamike, I would have loved to see us hire Norv Turner as OC. He was a lousy head coach but he definitely knows his offense. Somebody now needs to convince Fisher that Shottenheimer and his 3yrd passes ant then punt offense should be punted out of here as well. Was hoping he would somehow end up going to the Browns--they seem dumb enough to take him, but no such luck.

Can't be any worse than Walton. I'm assuming he isn't going to be involved in any Bountygate type incidents and he'll go back to being a solid DC

I think you might be right... I personally think it would be great exposure for the Rams. This team has some serious characters (Hekker, Quinn, Long, JJ) and now with Williams coming in, it brings intrigue.

When do we find out if they are going to be on it or not? While I'm not a fan of them being on there because I think it's a distraction. On the other hand I would love the Rams to get some TV time. ESPN and NFL network hate us so it would be nice to see us on TV for a change.

The move will help a lot.

As someone who gets the Jets on local TV, Schotty needs to go. I'm amazed he got this job to begin with, he did an awful job in New York. Sam needs someone who will use his skills properly, I feel bad for Sam dealing with a bunch of coaching changes, so for that reason Schotty stays in town, but if the offense doesn't improve greatly, he'll need to be removed.

I thought the Rams had a pretty formidable defense last season. Is Williams really capable of getting that staff to play any better??

Gregg Williams and Mad Mike would certainly be the most entertaining set of coordinators in quite a while.

I'd like to see that Zeke. He would turn our offense into a dynamo but keep him away from player personnel decisions.
