Roger Clemens.
Fight me.
Never was a fan, still think Mike Piazza is a bitch for not charging the mound when Clemens slung the piece of broken bat at him.
And Rocket's explanation to the ump for why he threw the bat chunk at Piazza was that he thought it was the ball.

?!!?!?!?!?

I agree BUT if we are talking about prime you could make a case for other guys. It's just the way it is when you compare extremely different eras in sports.

Pedro's prime years were insanely dominant.
Randy, Clemens and Maddux had a very dominant careers and still had a GREAT primes.
Clemens had a Cy in 3 different decades.
Maddux had an insane prime and 4 straight Cy's...which is crazy but career wise I don't put him as high as Randy, Pedro, Clemens or Walter.

Walter probably would have done the same but he had a MVP 12 years apart. I still have Walter as GOAT but I can see why others can at least be considered, is all I am saying. Another oldie that should be mentioned is Christy Mathewson.

One point about Clemens is...probably his two best years of his career (or 2 top 3 years), he didn't win the Cy Young. That's crazy considering he had 7.

Randy - greatest lefty

Walter is my pick for greatest righty.

I don't think the gap is huge though. Pedro and Roger are right there imo.

He's my #2.

And shoulda been a Mariner in his HOF induction.

The only thing RJ did better/more of on the M's was pitch in 40 more games...other than that, he did everything better with AZ.

True, but he also won a few that he shouldn't have won (notably 2001 and 2004), so it kinda evens out.

I've always leaned towards Bob Gibson. Guy was clutch as hell when it mattered.

And he swung a pretty decent bat. I remember him clouting HRs in the World Series.

Mean too.

2 Cy Youngs, one NL MVP.

And 2 World Series MVPs.
You're right.

I can't fucking believe it.

Those seasons were first.

I already said he was, you don't need to.

If he were mediocre after he left Seattle, I wouldn't bet on him making the HOF. On the flipside, if he were mediocre before he went to AZ, I'd bet on him making the HOF.

His time in Arizona made him a HOF lock, not his time in Seattle.

A seagull knocking a hole in his grill and killing the aerodynamics probably cost Dale Sr a Daytona 500.

Randy was the most dominant pitcher I’ve seen with my two eyes. Second most dominant player I’ve ever seen to Bonds.
