If we're limiting it to guys known mainly for their time as heels then I don't think Scott Hall should be on the list. He was a very popular face in the mid 90s with the Razor Ramon gimmick. Came into WWF as a great heel but turned face in less than a year and was 1 of the most popular faces from 93-96.

A few guys you might replace him with could be Jeff Jarrett, Owen Hart, or Yokozuna. I want to say Andre the Giant but most of his career was before my time and I think he spent a lot of time as a popular face as well. Yeah my wrestling knowledge is pretty much limited to the 90s.

Flair was pretty popular as a face too but he had a long career and was so great as a heel that I think he belongs on the list. Even when he was face he'd still do a lot of his heel dirty tricks and the crowd would go nuts.

Yeah, Flair for sure belongs on that list, he really innovated the art of being a heel.

Roddy Piper, Rick Rude and Ted Dibiase would be my top 3 heels.

triple h and roddy piper were loved too much during their careers. I don't consider them all time heels.

80's - ted dibiase. honorable mention goes to king kong bundy and honky tonk man.

90's - yokozuna, honorable mention to jerry lawler for his fued with bret hart and sgt slaughter for his 'turncoat' character. nash and hall are lifetime heels even tho they were faces for a few years.

2000+ - Edge. honorable mention to JBL and his title run on smackdown.

BEST heels of all time are the mangers. paul heyman, bobby heenan, mr Fuji, slick, jimmy hart - any manager in the 80's/90's

not on the level of many of the legendary heels mentioned here.

But the best thing that could have happened to Alberto Del Rio was the heel turn.

Now the rivalry with Cena..... On his way to a legendary heel.

They did a great job on that one. He was so boring as a "good guy"

However, a great bad guy,

I forgot, Jacques Rougeau a.k.a. The Mountie was quite possibly my favorite during the 90's. The fabulous Rougeau brothers back in the 80's were also impossible to like.

Someone already mentioned him, but the Honky Tonk Man was great.

Also liked: Scott Steiner in NWO. "Big Pappa Pump"

Mr. Perfect and the Million Dollar Man were awesome.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

I used to like Bob Backlund when he became an intellectual and started making fun of people for not carrying dictionaries on their person at all times.

I'm sort of tempted to add AJ Lee to this list. Mainly because I think she just might be the best heel in the WWE today, certainly top 3. Quite impressive for a female wrestler to reach the stature she's reached.

This Diva's division is fabulous!!!

Are we talking LIFELONG heels or just heels? The McMahon Family plays the heel pretty well. But, they've also gone the other way as well.

Hmm, don't have to be lifelong heels, but they should be remembered for their roles as heels instead of their roles as faces. It's not a totally objective standard, but I think most wrestling fans could tell the difference, so I'll acknowledge whomever you present into the argument. Just try to think of people who are more heel than face. Yes, the McMahon's are great heels, no doubt about that. At the same time, they're too easy to bring up. Like you said, they've gone out of their way and they decide the storylines.

A guy many of you may have never heard of because he spent most of his career in Texas and died very young from a cocaine overdose but was, when I was young, one of the favorite people I loved to hate was Gorgeous Gino Hernandez.

As for managers, my favorite all-time is Jim Cornette.
