Yes I do…

% of 3’s made significantly less

Man you really need to look things up instead of only giving your obviously biased opinion. From stat-muse-.com.

NBA league wide three point percentage by decade

1980's- 28.9%

1990's- 34.7%

"% of 3's made significantly less" <-----just STFU already...you're wrong

2000's- 35.6%

2010's- 35.6%

2020's- 36.1%

Except it isn’t.

33% from 3 is equal to 50% from 2

Think about what you are claiming here.

You are saying the shot the offense wants to take is the same shot that the defense is willing to allow.

Makes no sense at all.

You should just stop making sense. He doesn't want to hear it.

And no amount of logic or NBA numbers will get him to change his mind.

I think he is talking about percentage of 3s being less than the percentage of 2s

But 36.1% is the same as 54% from 2. And that is league average. That counts all the horrible contested shots from guys like Jordan Poole.

Open 3s I would guess are closer to 40%.

And I think we can all agree that no defense is going to just straight up concede a 54% 2 point shot, let alone a 60% shot.

Dude!!!!

In today’s game, with the lack of defense that’s being played, and if it was more of an inside game , not the 3…

Pts per game would 150+

I’m not saying he never flopped…

Look, the guy was/is the ultimate competitor .

I believe his own dad lost his life on a bet

MJ just did everything in style

Currently players are whiny biotches…

Malone and Dawkins WOULD never play the game today

...back in my day......walked 2 miles.....uphill.......both ways......in a snowstorm.....

Watching the Netflix documentary right now.

Just heard a crazy stat.

2024 Canada had more NBA players on its roster than the Dream Team faced during its entire Olympic run combined.

As great as the Dream Team was, the talent gap between US and the rest of the world was simply not comparable to what modern national teams face.

Any USA basketball roster from the last 30 years would have won gold in ‘92.

Right, and I think even the biggest old school fans will concede that, the DT greatness is not about how much they crushed teams in the Olympics by. It's still a benchmark for comparing eras. MJ in his prime surrounded by the best other players of his era...can a team from today beat them in a series? Absolutely, although as has been noted today you'd probably have to include foreign players. A US only team today would probably lose that series but it would be competitive.

You really have to find the right year.

Would the 2024 beat the Dream Team?

No, I don’t believe so.

But take the main guys from this team, rewind
The clock to about 2017 and add the top complimentary players available?

I think it would be a hell of a battle.

I am thinking:

Curry, Lillard
LeBron, KD, Kawhi
Anthony Davis, Kevin Love
Klay Thompson, Paul George, Jimmy Butler

+ a couple role playing bigs would be epic

I don’t want Harden or Russ

Yep I did that exact post at the beginning of this thread, post #6. 2017 was even the year I picked.

An all US team from 2017 could go toe to toe with the DT. A world team from 2025 could as well.

Here's mine:

I wonder how the numbers were chosen, randomly I guess? Weird thing to wonder but it was weird seeing all these big stars with sequential numbers

We did a whole thread about this a while back.

OK so today probably the best team you could put together has to include foreigners to win. If it's US players only they might be too old. 6-7 years ago an all American team of: LeBron, Steph, KD, Kawhi, Harden, AD, Butler, Draymond, Kyrie, DeRozan, CP3, Klay (over Dame, for defense) would win a game or two in a series with the DT. Remember this is 2016-2018 versions of these players. Split the difference and say 2017 (GOAT level actual NBA team all 4 main guys have a case to be on this team)

If foreigners are allowed from 2017...take out Draymond add Giannis

If today foreigners are allowed you might put together a team that could compete with DT: Still gotta have LeBron and Steph, we saw them in the Olympics, perfect for a 7 game series, Giannis, Jokic, Luka, Ant Man, Wemby (defense alone gets him there), AD, KD, Fox, Sabonis, Tatum is close is not even with the DT. But todsy with only Americans, the good ones are too old now LOL.

Depends too on style, rules, etc. Inside/post and midrange play vs pace and space 3-point shooting

That’s quite true. MJ didn’t have to call himself the goat like LeBron tries to do.
It's factually incorrect (lie). But still most comical was you calling anyone a nut hugger considering that comment/lie by you.

And what MJ did was actually pretty dishonest and self serving in a manipulative kind of way.

He called Bill Russell the GOAT because of ring count.

And IMO he did that because he knows that Russell isn’t really in that conversation and I think it was his own way of ranking himself ahead of LeBron without actually naming himself.

agree with this....but main issue with his comment is he tried to claim no peer or any player I believe thinks Lebron is better,
