Kobe is great.. but he is overrated by laker fans. i watched kobe bryant single handidly shoot the lakers out of a championship against detroit. then i saw a much more mature kobe lead his team to 3 straight finals, winning two.

when laker fans talk about kobe's 5 titles.. 3 of them were from shaq, period. two he earned as the man. it's not a knock on kobe. pippen is a 6 time champion. wade is a 3 time champion. it's not kobe's fault he played with shaq in his prime. had he not won titles then, he wouldnt be considered great. it's just the he's got 5. yea.. that's true, but only 2 as the man and 3 as robin.

Am gonna tell you this... when I watched my heat play against the lakers. Shaq would dominate us on the paint. Zo being one of the best defenders in league. Would throw his hands up frustrated looking at the heat bench saying " what the fuck am I suppose to do!!!" Every team in the NBA felt that way. Nobody really gived a shit about Kobe. Key to winning a game vs the Lakers is try keeping the ball away from Shaq and let Kobe shoot 30 something shots. He's only going to makes less then half of those anyways. To me Shaq will always be a greater Lakers then Kobe. The most unstoppable man I ever seen.

There are a couple major holes in your LeBron hate. First, in the 2007 Finals, LeBron was 22. His career was still in its infancy. The fact that Kobe was able to win so early in his career was a product of his landing spot. Had Charlotte not traded Kobe for Vlade, how many rings would Kobe have now? He certainly would not have gotten the first 3 he got with Shaq.

Second, you always bring up the bronze medals that LeBron "led" team USA to. In 2004, LeBron was 20. He was no leader. He was a young phenom on a horribly constructed team. They had selfish ball dominators and very little outside shooting. That team never had a chance in a landscape were basketball in the rest of the world keeps getting better and better. That failure was not on LeBron.

I think most people that know basketball pretty much knew this stuff inspite of all the hype. Thats why no one really cares if Kobe gets another ring or passes Jordan in scoring. MJ and LBJ have never been Robin, but Kobe has. That is not the definition of the greatest player of all-time in my book. That is why Lebron has a chance.
