Kiper is right. It all about how the Redskins feel about Tua. My opinion is that we should role with Haskins especially if we get back Sherff, Flowers and Williams on the oline. I would take Young at #2. The only problem with trading down is that we have to hit on all the picks we get. I think Young is a sure thing and would instantly make our team better.

Kiper also says there is no bad option but if we did take Tua and he gets hurt or doesn't perform I think that will have a major setback on this team. The trade down puts this team back b/c we still would not have an elite pass rusher on our team. I think the safest way to go is to take Young at #2. The other two options are huge risks IMO but those risks could hit big.

Thoughts?

Having two 1st round picks and a 2nd rounder is not a risk. We could get the best LT in the draft and 2nd or 3rd best WR as well. I am not sure that is a risk at all.

It appears TW coming back might not be a sure thing so you have a massive hole at LT. Flowers coming back isn't necessarily a good thing as he graded out as below average.

At this stage in our rebuild, we need quantity over quality.

The risk is passing one the next Khail Mack and have a dominant pass rusher. 1st and 2nd round picks bust all the time. just b/c we have more picks doenst mean we will hit on them. I think Young is sure thing. So I rather have one sure thing than the picks who could bust.

Man, looking at these mocks, and the likelihood of combine stars affecting the draft, If things didn't go perfectly, we could really flop on a multiple pick deal for the #2 overall pick.
If we were to miss on Simmons or Okudah, there is still no guarantee a top LT would be on board.
- We have been throwing out a deal with Miami for the 5th, 18th and 39th as a scenario.
I'm curious who makes an immediate impact? More picks would certainly be exciting but Young seems safer.
I also believe Trent can land a 2nd and Dunbar a 3rd

I'll add this, Miami has zero incentive to trade with our team (unless it's for Haskins)

If they are convinced that we're keeping Dwayne, then Tua or Burrow will be available at selection #3.

Fearing another team jumping into the number two spot can almost be ruled out because the idea, based upon recent threads, is in getting those 3 picks that ONLY Miami offers.

Tua is the wildcard, his health, spelled "readiness," will be the biggest factor in determining where he's drafted.

With respect to Burrows, after watching and studying him a bit more, I'm ready to swim against the tide and declare him the most uncertain pick in this draft ( based upon where he's going to be drafted)

I'll pass on this guy because behind all of last season's numbers, I see Heath Shuler.
Laugh and ridicule to your collective hearts content, just remember that ya heard it from me first!

so you are telling me a thomas , a ruggs , or a simmons isnt worth it ? add to it a trautman ?

now my 1st option is simply drafting young , but i dont see a downside to getting more picks with smith making the picks

as for TW NO ONE HAS CONTACTED US , let that sink in

FA will determine what we do if we can fill some needs with quality guys then it leans more toward young

however if we lose TW then we have an issue

You fucking take Young if you dont you dont deserve to be a coach or a GM isaish Simmions is sua cravens 2.0 what is he idk lets put him in camp and find out blah blah take Young but like i said 4 months ago you have to act like you interested in Tua because if your not you will never get a call for a trade i called this 4 months ago i said if you want maimi picks you have to pretend you like Tua which will cause maimi to panick and give us there picks plus them some probaly maimi 5th and there 15th and 2rd and 1rd in 2021.. if you just come out and say your taking young already then you wont get a call for picks not in less its a king ransom for Young. So You draft Young but use Tua, Herbert as trade bait

Absolutely on Miami, they have no reason to throw the kitchen sink at us.
Also I agree with Burrow being a flop in the sense, he won't led the Bengals to the playoffs right away. He may have a few spectacular games, but I'd be suprised if they win more than 6 games.

SD! Very few professional mockers, such as nfl.com, etc....are even entertaining miami acquiring the 2nd overall pick, I've seen it with Detroit, but not Washington.
...we aren't SF, where we will make a superbowl run after a terrible year.
Pass rush continues to be a problem and we have a chance to get defensive line completely out of the way....when it comes to needs

There is always a risk as you said. However, how many times have we heard about a "can't miss prospect" or "generational talent"?
Young is a great player and could be amazing. However, there are also concerns with him just like anyone else. I don't think he is telling the entire truth about the whole loan thing and he was actually suspended last year. That is never a good thing. Kids are kids and make mistakes and hopefully he learned his lesson.

However, he disppeared during big games and that is never a good thing. The games against MICH, WI and Clemson should worry anybody about to draft him.

The thing is that people have no clue how bad this team is. We need quantity now over quality. It is appears from multiple reports that TW is demanding a trade or an absurd contract. We have to move him if that is the case. By doing that, we literally have no LT on the team. FA has no LT so we would draft one in the 3rd round. That would doom Haskins. Basically a LT is more important and a bigger need that an Edge rusher at this point.

We have gapping holes all over the place and unless we drop 100 million FA, we need to build through he draft the best we can and rebuild the team. Young should be a fine player but it makes little difference if we have no LT and sacrifice building a young core just for Young.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, I just want to add this...Moving up to get Chase Young won't garner the return that people are hoping to get, even though every team in the league would be thrilled to get him. Sorry everyone, he may prove to be that generational player, but in the NFL, QB nets those type returns., not DE's.

if you want one of the qbs you have to get ours to guarantee it period

if miami trades with det and san diego then trades with us , then miami loses out

now lets be real there is a 99.9999 % chance we take young

I don't think our team is as bad as people make it out to be. I think Young is a game changer. We have a lot of money to spend in FA. Yes if we lose TW its a hole, but it can be filed with avg. talent. Let me ask you this? Do you want Tua at #2?
