"He’s a first-round talent and a better player than the other Wright."
-Cohn on Jarius

I like Jarius Wright quite a bit. I like Kendall more, but Jarius is also one of my favorite WRs available this year. I haven't seen what he said about Jarius because I'm a tad lazy these days with the lower-level SF writers anymore, but I would imagine if I saw his thoughts on Jarius vs. any other WR, I would chuckle a little.

If Niners trade up, it better be for DeCastro or someone who's going to address a need on this team. I'm pretty sure the FO, unlike Cohnhead, wouldn't trade up for a TE.

Read that piece last night. So disappointing, I'd take Phil Barber back over this kid.

It's sad how far the column has fallen.

Even if he's trying to cover the stories differently than the Matt's, how about supporting the team? You don't need to praise the pick, but get the Fleener out your ass and cover the actual story.

He just comes off as some crybaby fan that's upset his draft crush didn't get picked.

He was delusional in the first place to believe that Fleener was a top 5 prospect and the best receiver in the draft.

Also it's not like Fleener is the only player that can help us on 3rd downs in the draft or non of the additions like Moss, Manningham, and now Jenkins are going to help.

Or the fact I guess that teams that score TDs and 3rd downs only do so because they have 2 TEs and one of them is 6'6

I'm fine with disagreeing with the pick and questioning it but at least sound professional when reporting it and I would bet he watched 0 film and knows nothing about AJ Jenkins so how can you even comment about what kind of player Jenkins will be and how he'll fit besides rattling off his measurables.

the only differences between cohn and all of us writing on these message boards are that (1) his dad is a sportswriter, (2) someone edits his work, and (3) we have better knowledge about the game and team.

i stopped reading his stuff after about 3 articles. It's all garbage from a kid who has no business commenting on the sport. he's not even qualified enough to do the local high school sports news

Call it 49ers' Graduation-Gate

Here's one from old man Cohn that makes you :burt:

What a joke both the Cohn's have become. Nobody wants to hear you whine about how your feelings got hurt.

When I check 49ers blogs I want some actual insightful information. Whether it's team news, player interviews, some stat crunching, some game analysis, etc. Not some fanboyish garbage that's been spewing from the Press Democrat as of late.

I don't even know what to make of this:

Winner announced in the First Annual Anthony Davis, And To A Lesser Extent Colin Kaepernick, Writing Competition - Inside the 49ers

This reminds me of a combination of two articles from the past: the "which fictional characters 49ers players remind me of" thing from the Chronicle back in like 2007, and Lowell Cohn's "I'm from NY, I can take it" rant from two or three years back.

How does this guy have a soap box to be spouting this shit from?

Can I make it where I block links connected to him? What a loser!

Gee, why didn't Harbaugh pay 100% attention to me and my pointless question? Why did he give me a brush-off answer and now I can say he LIED to me? No coach has ever LIED to the media about the team! -signed, the other Douchebag Cohn.

FYI - I didn't walk my undergrad, either, Grant. Maybe because most realize the act of EARNING the diploma is much more important than waiting for hours to walk across a stage for 10 seconds with 2 thousand other people. Sometimes, there's other shit to do in life.

Well this article was Lowell's masterpiece and he actually puts words in Harbaugh's mouth.

The article states Harbaugh said Jenkin's graduated which is probably true but he didn't do the march. It was Cohn that interrupted it as a lie because he said Harbaugh said Jenkin's didn't march when that's not what he said at all.

Jenkins was just setting his priorities straight. The NFL is his future career and considering the amount of work and competitiveness it takes to just survive in the league it was wise for Jenkins to get started now.

If he skipped the rookie minicamp he would'nt have realized that he wasn't in NFL shape until later. But because he showed up he knows that he has a lot more work he needs to put in so he'll be even more ready next practice.

I hadn't seen this yet. Lowell might be a bigger idiot than Grant.

I love that both Cohns think it will somehow aid their career to shit on the guys they cover. And maybe they're right. Certainly they don't have anything to offer as respectable journalists. But mocking Anthony Davis, and calling Harbaugh a liar, seem like pretty dumb moves to me. Why alienate the guys you're supposed to be covering over stupid shit like this?

Yeah, if anything, I'd guess it was Jenkins' agent who was like, "You need to get into camp." As a first round pick, he presumably would have been fine missing this camp. But it's not the foot you want to start on in the NFL.
