Very solid player with speed and power. Not saying he's a hall of famer but another guy with a higher career WAR than Harold Baines with way less plate appearances. Reminded me a lot of Bobby Bonds with his ability to lead off a game with a home run and seemed to have a lot of multi hr games. Obviously not the base stealing ability of Bonds but he had good speed, especially when he was younger. Playing in a bigger ballpark like Detroit he had 26 steals and 23 triples one year.

Fun player to watch, although when he's going against your team you hate to see him leading off against you, especially against a right handed starter.

Very good player. Crazy to think him and Rollins both hit 20+ triples in the same year.

I remember hoping that somehow Austin Jackson might turn into 1/2 the player Granderson was.

Clearly, the Yankees did too, but lost patience.

Poor guy won't get in the Hall because he never played for Tony La Russa.

Tigers got four really good years out of Jackson before falling off in 2014. They were pretty neck-in-neck per fWAR though Grandy did have fewer games. Tigers did get Scherzer out of that one too. Great trade for Detroit, good one for the Yanks, bad one for the D-Backs.

Yeah, the power never materialized for Ajax-even though he showed flashes in the minors. Him and Granderson both K'ed like it was going out of style, but Grandy at least would pop you 20 or 30 HR, 40 in a good year.

Being a leadoff hitter will do that to you...it took Rickey Henderson like 20 years to get to 1000.

I completely forgot that he was a leadoff hitter. Sizemore too.

Always liked him as a player, all the best to him in retirement.
