I believe we need to make him a one year offer of 4mil plus incentives. He could come here and build his value while playing in a hitter friendly park the way Adrian Beltre built his value playing for the Red Sox. Plus he would give us one more year to properly develop Martin into our CFer of the future.

Well, look at it this way. After today, they've got plenty of available roster spots. At this point I am looking at Sizemore about the same as I did Webb last season. If he can prove that he is going to be healthy and productive then by all means, love to have him. If he is just wanting a check then he can buzz off. Sizemore needs to play some winter ball and prove something if you ask me.

exactly my view. if he's healthy he would be exactly what this team needs in the lead-off spot & in CF. the contract would heavily incentive-loaded so that he has to meet certain performance levels.


if healthy i could see him holding down CF and giving Josh a rest from it.

Yup. We have a logjam in the OF already, no use going after a risky guy. Already we have Gentry, Martin, Cruz, Josh, and Murphy. Unless we move Murphy and keep Martin in AAA another year, I don't see the need to gamble on an OF'er.

Even if he had a "good" year by his standards I'm pretty sure we can match those numbers with the guys we have now. Don't see the point in taking a gamble while holding back guys that are just as good and have the potential to be far better.

Tore up the Texas League this Year but struggled at Round Rock. Got a Few At Bats with The Rangers at the end of the Year. But Martin is a Talent.
