I wish they had signed the Honey Badger for about the same money that they gave Scandrick.

I wish they made a significant offer to either Jet Dlineman to pair with Allen from last year, and actually be fairly stout in down the middle of our defense.

I think they SHOULD have resigned Ryan Grant this week, for more than 1 year / $5 million, because he's not terrible, runs pretty good routes, had his best year this past year, and would at least be pretty solid depth.

But I'm glad that they aren't overpaying in general.

Even Alex Smith's contract isn't a gross overpayment to a terrible, declining player.

It's no coincidence that the redskins have managed to claw from laughingstock of the league to mediocre playoff fringe team over the last few years at the same time as they have had decent cap management and player acquisitions.

Could BOTH be better? Sure.

But I'm glad that the days of signing the Haynesworths of the world for an obscene amount of money are long gone.

And unless you're a Sporty, One-Trick-Pony, "fan" from Philly, you should be too.

I was listening to Kevin and Cooley and they did a bit where they divided up the last 15 years in increments of 3. These last three years have been the most successful of the past 15. They talked about Jay, you mention Bruce not overpaying. I'm pretty sure both of those played a part, but you gotta think having Kirk under center for those three years in not a coincendenc either. We'll have a much clearer picture of who Jay is and who Kirk is and was after this year imo.

IM still wondering if he is trying to convince us or himself that Bruce actually isnt a fuckup in process waiting to burn itself out.

But Im glad to see our opinion matters enough for him to throw shade. :thumb:

Agreed. Having KC, a competent qb under center certainly played a big part in raising the redskins from laughingstock of the league to middling, perennial .500ish team.

Without a doubt.

I wish I could get behind the idiots, like the OTP, who whine on every post about how awful Bruce Allen et al are, but the truth of the matter is that if KC deserves some of the credit for helping the team rise to semi-respectability, then so does the front office.

It's that simple, unless, of course, you're an incessant whiner like the OTP. And the latest moron from philly.

Of course your opinion matters enough to throw some shade, OTP. I like to read this blog, and you ARE the One Trick Pony.

You deserve to be called out for what you are - an incessant whiner. A debbie downer. About absolutely everything that has to do with the redskins.

it's frustrating, annoying, and frankly a little disconcerting how much of a lack of objectivity you have regarding something that is so clear.

I'm just glad I don't have to worry about you in real life.

Jesus, you're annoying.

Then I guess that would make you.... another puppet. That has no doubt and ultimate faith in one of the worst General Managers this side of Matt Millen. But its cool, Dan and Bruce need folks around with ultimate optimism who no matter what tend to think... this could be the move and this could be the year. After all, how else is he going to fill that monstrosity with a moat that he has on the drawing board. Hope you like the drive to Richmond though. By the way, Im all for it as it would cut 7 hours out of my round trip when I go to the games.

By the way, when IM actually wrong about one of Bruces master strokes let me know. Because to date, I called the RG3 trade failure.

I called that they would screw up with Cousins. And Im calling it now that Smith will be average for us and ultimately in two years we will be wondering who the next great QB of the Redskins will be. :suds:

I think you have to give Mike Shanahan a great deal of credit. He is the one who drafted Cousin's after Bruce and Dan wanted to give the farm away for Griffin.

Only a stupid person writes in such absolutes. According to you, either I think Bruce Allen is awful, and everything he has done, is doing, and will do is going to be awful, or "I'm a puppet."

It doesn't matter to stupid people that there is evidence that is obvious to everybody else that what they are saying is completely inaccurate, because they are stupid. They only think in absolutes.

I have doubts about Bruce Allen, as I have said repeatedly.
I have doubts about Dan Snyder, which I have also said repeatedly.

Having "optimism" and having "ultimate optimism" isn't the same thing.

Do you understand that?

Additionally, you "call" that the front office will screw EVERYTHING up, so why should anybody be impressed with any of your "calls?"

You also "called" that the redskins contract to smith was going to be awful. It is not.

If there is a negative "call" to make, you're going to make it. If anybody disagrees with you, they're going to be "ABC'ers" or "Bruce Allen Fan Club members."

It's childish.

Mike Shanahan is a two-bit hack, who may not have singlehandedly ruined RG3's career (RG3 had a lot to do with it), but didn't exactly protect his star quarterback either.

Is it any surprise that he hasn't had a whiff of a coaching gig since getting dumped by Snyder? I think not.

He drafted Cousins, which in hindsight, was a good move.

Good for him, and good for cousins.

Actually, our success was perfectly aligned with KC. We were a floundering mess until he took the reigns. That is why the FO gets no credit. If we continue to improve, then they get credit.

I call em like I see em. Last time I checked, you generally dont get commended for a great job cleaning up the mess you made.

And that sir is basically what you are doing with the original post in this thread. Proclaiming what a smash bang job Bruce is doing. Call it childish if ya want. Proclaim I have nothing but negative to say about Bruce and Dan. Yep guilty on that one. Because so far every time I see them take two steps forward like finally hiring a GM, and finding a franchise QB even after they mortgaged the future for the fancy pick...

They always seem to find a way to take a step back... and yet some how manage to convince some people... it was the right thing to do for the team.

Youre reeaallyy gonna have to sell me on Allen not being awful.

He butchered the KC situation and he wasnt responsible for KC being here.

Meanwhile hes a yes man for Snyder who has been completely ok throwing both KC and SM under the bus to get what he wants. Thats the guy you want to defend?

Also responsible for drafting Trent his first year here I believe.

This offseason we let our QB go for nothing and then gave up one of our best young players and a valuable pick for a worse, older QB.

We also dumped our first REAL GM of my lifetime thanks to Allen and his BS.

What are we supposed to be happy about?

Look on the bright side, we saved $13M in guaranteed money over the next three seasons AND the best part is, Bruce neither actually or figuratively had to admit he was wrong. That alone should inspire hope apparently.

True and Kerrigan, Alf, Jordan Reed, Garcon. What Shanahan wouldn't do was go after Locker or Gabbert. I still laugh when I think of the run game when the Shanahans were here as compared to now. Folks couldn't wait to get rid of those terrible lineman but somehow we ran the ball back then. We sucked at QB though.

Calling a guy that coached two Super Bowls a hack is pretty silly. Especially when you see the three most proven coaches that were here under Snyder .... Marty 8-8, Joe Gibbs II four games under .500 and Shanahan's poor record here.

Whether you like what he says or not chill .... shark is spot on. You don't have to read his posts if you don't like them. It seems to me you are the whiner here. Not to mention all the name calling. Yes I realize I have name called also but dad asked us to clean that up. I am going to not call a dumb ass a dumb ass anymore.

That's awesome for you, sporty. I wouldn't want you to call Sharkinva a dumb ass anymore either.

Edit: Actually, considering that the OTP manages to post his gloom-and-doom on pretty much every thread, I DO have to read his posts.

I also have to "call em like I see em," just like the OTP. When you're a whiny, debbie downer, who can't find a single positive thing to say about the redskins, you deserve to be called a whiny, one trick pony.

I think you're making a very stand-up choice in not calling him out for being a fucking moron though. That's nice of you.

if you had been right a tenth as often as shark you might have some backing chill. We always have a choice to read or not read. Not to mention shark does not get involved in all the name calling that you have been exhibited in the past few posts. My guess is since most don't agree with you, you are getting frustrated and your temper is has got the better of you. :nono:
