Actually, ignore what I just wrote. I'm jumping the gun based on third-hand reports.
Sounds like some kind of ginned-up compromise between "you broke the rules when those were the rules" and "new rules apply now" - just for the sake of Gordon. But whatevs. Contracts can say anything. Happily they're not writing rules for the rest of us.
was the DUI Gordon got in June his first offense of that nature?
I thought pot busts and DUIs hit the same category in the world of NFL punishments.
Screw it. I just picked up Blackmon in my money league......................free passes for all! BTW, if Welker comes back I'd have to say Latimore is a dynasty league stash and not much more than that.
I still don't get it. . At all. Not just the ridiculousness of retro active anything, but especially these predictions of Gordons possible suspension. Supposedly retro active for the 2014 league year, his infraction occurred during the 2013 year. But they still are retro-ing something there. OK, retarded but ok, whatever. So, throughout this entire process, it was always a year or nothing. I know therewe're report after report of possible settlement, but realistically was always all or nothing. Now this retro crappie comes along, this positive test is no longer a positive test, yet there's still a suspension coming? ? WTF? makes NO SENSE whatsoever! !!![/QUOTE]
That's my thought on the matter.........seems like it should be an all or nothing type deal to me. I picked him up in 2 leagues and as dumb as this may sound (fantasy wise) I would almost rather it be nothing instead of 8-10 games...................I mean you almost have to burn that roster spot and the rewards should be great but it still seems crazy to me that he'd get anything less than a year or more than the 2 weeks he's already served.
Fuck it.
I say put weed right on the sidelines. Turn one of those Gatorade jugs into a giant bong. We're in a new age, boys! Light it up!
Gordon is a great receiver. But some guys do well in certain systems, and without Norv Turner calling the shots in CLE, I'm skeptical that he comes out hot and stays hot when the NFL decides to let him play.
3. All players who tested positive or who were otherwise disciplined or placed into the drug or PED program will have retroactivity, with the new rules being reapplied as of March 11, 2014.
