If we finish 2-3 and assuming losses to Michigan, MD and Wisconsin, that would put us at 21-10 entering the B1GT. Assuming we are the #7 seed and play somebody like PSU/Nebraska and lose that would put us at 21-11. Even with that record we'd still have a top 35 RPI. I would be shocked if we got left out with that RPI number being in a major conference. It's only happened once in the past 23 years(OU in 1994 and they were just 15-13)

I think it's not out of the question we slide down to a 7 if we go one-and-done in D.C. depending on how the other conference tournaments play out. With how down the committee seems to be on the B1G this season, I think our ceiling is a 5...only if we win the B1G tourney. So it sounds like we have a similar opinion, though I see a bit more downside to a poor showing in D.C.

I'm surprised at 5 seed a well, but we got the toughest 12 seed.

According to ESPN, Gophers shouldn't even show up, MTSU has this in the bag. MTSU upset MSU last year, so they're no joke. Murphy/Lynch will need to control paint and stay out of foul trouble...

Honestly the more I hear the "experts" write off the Gophers, the better I feel about our chances. I don't have the hard numbers to back this, but I think the most expected 12 over 5 seldom happens. It's like coaches are smart enough to use the experts as bulletin board material to motivate their teams to focus on taking care of business in the 1st round.

Hopefully Harris can contribute something

McIntosh would be such a huge upgrade over Gilbert. I never thought Gilbert was a P5 type of player based on the offers he was receiving out of high school. He won't sniff the court next year even if he stays with Hurt being bumped ahead of him and hopefully a healthy Fitz. If he does leave, I'm hoping we fill the void with a grad transfer. That person will be able to contribute immediately and provide more depth. Springs was a perfect fit this year, still bums me out he got injured at the end.
