He sucked in the 2nd half of the year though. He was top 5 for both before the ASB. There's a reason he was 2nd to last in Playoff +/- (and I know that doesn't always say everything about the way someone is playing). At best he is an offensive defenseman who is bad in his own end and at worst he is a PP specialist, who is really bad in his own end.

to be fair (..), he was playing with mike green who isn't exactly a defensemen in his own right

prior to the schenn deal, and provided the flyers had the room, i wanted wideman at 5 mil per.. so.. maybe i didnt see enough of him this year, but last year i thought he was a pretty damn good dman.. i'd take a flyer on him (...)

i always thought of Wideman as a solid dman. I dont think this last year is indication. Im sure Feaster saw tons of him when he was in Tampa.

no, he was playing with Schultz and Erskine who got switched in and out of the lineup, yet his numbers stayed the same. And taking a flyer on him is a little less than a 5 year deal worth that much money...

all reports say carle is going to sign w/ the flyers for between 4.25 and 4.75.. probably the latter, right out of the gate in free agency.. i've read that the deal is pretty much already agreed on, they just have to wait until the 1st because the flyers dont have any tagging space left

agreed.. i mean now he's probably your second best UFA dman avialable after suter.. pending your need garrison might be second best, but regardless, anything under 5 is a great deal for carle in my eyes.. flyers are gunna have a great top 6, but they're going to be paying out the ass for it.. schenn is going to be the lowest cap hit at 3.6
