Geez, I wonder when and where this board heard this proposal before?
Honestly I've been a uniform over name guy since day one. I need to turn on my TV and see the team I grew up watching. Florio can call them whatever he wants. They are the Skins to me.

Warriors or Braves, I would probably end up using after a few years, as long as those names are attached to one of old uniforms.

If this isn’t acceptable then it’s runaway wokeism in play
If it is acceptable then it's also runaway wokeism at play. ( If you can make it up, so can I)

Correct, but the name was supposedly used to honor, William Henry "Lone Star" Dietz, a man of German decent who pretended to be Native American because there were advantages for him doing it.
If the premise is false, everything that follows is also false.

Nobody and I mean nobody names anything after something they hate period . If Mr dietz represented himself to Mr marshal falsely that in no way erases the intent .

According to Smithsonian historian Ives Goddard, early historical records indicate that "Redskin" was used as a self-identifier by Native Americans to differentiate between the two races. Goddard found that the first use of the word "redskin" came in 1769, in negotiations between the Piankashaws and Col. John Wilkins.

William Henry Dietz

Born: August 17, 1884, Rice Lake, WI
Died: July 20, 1964 (age 79 years), Reading, PA
Education: Carlisle Indian Industrial School, Chilocco Indian School
Germans didn’t go to Indian schools in the late 1800&s

Marshall was said to have named the Redskins in honor of Dietz, who claimed to be of the Sioux Nation, by analogy with the Red Sox who shared the team's new home, Fenway Park. A 1933 news article quotes Marshall as saying he named the team because of real Indians on the team.

The idea that it was to his “advantage “ to be an American Indian at the turn of the 19th century is flat out ridiculous. He was born less than a decade after the Indian wars and prejudice was still very high . Those schools he attended were designed to “ cleanse “ American Indians of their Culture and “ Americanize “ them . They certainly would boost a white of German Ancestry to greater promise . They weren’t even allowed to speak their native languages. Sorry I reject that at face value because it doesn’t add up . My philosophy is if you want to silence something then most likely the silencer has something to hide . All you have to do is simply google left wing google up to find the answers

History is full of instances that completely refute your assertion. Unless of course you believe that destroying things, customs and people aren't indicative of hatred. Perhaps rereading what you previously wrote will enlighten you on how deeply rooted that hatred was and now.
