The point of no-return will be completely dependent on the W/L record. People in general want to associated themselves with winning franchises, and as such, winning games with the promise of more to come, induces them to buy more merchandise. Losing OTOH, leaves folks with zero motivation to spend their expendable funds on such frivolous things.
It is the conundrum that "name changers" face after putting themselves into a no win situation.

I agree. If they win and win big, I think the casuals and the younger generation settles on Commanders. If they lose and lose big, Harris has bigger problems than the name.

It's just that say two or three years from now, does Harris really change the name that's been here for six or seven years at that point? I don't think so.

I see two windows. Next summer, or when and if they return to RFK. RFK would be about returning to the roots and the former stomping grounds of the team. I could see them possibly tie that in with a rebrand and some version of the old uniforms.
