There is a town in Taxachusetts near where I used to live whose athletic teams were called Redmen, but the name got canceled in the cancelation fervor a few years back. The Left assumed it referred to Native Americans so that was it.

Turns out, the town was at a spot on the river where red clay was mined, packaged and shipped, for bricks I guess. Back in the day, it was hard but honest work, and the miners came home every day with a coating of red clay and dust, hence they were called "Redmen."

The town was proud of the name which honestly reflected their heritage, but an oblivious cancel culture took it away. Seriously, fuck 'em.
