He was solely responsible for Elias first run. He blew 3 straight pitchs Farquarhar (sp?) threw.

Funny how we only had 8 walks the first series combined, then had double digit walks last night.

(can't edit my typo in the title... Home plate ump... prob obvi, but wanted to point it out)

If you are a home plate umpire and people know you by name thats probably a sign that you are GOD AWFUL.

I know plenty of umpires by name just by virtue of the fact that they've been in the game for most of my life, so I don't necessarily agree with you. However, if you're making your major league debut behind the plate as an umpire and people know you by name by the end of it, that's definitely a bad sign.

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but it's unbelievable how bad he was in that game...

These are from the Umpire's perspective, not the Pitcher's perspective. These strikezone maps are drawn to the specifications of Mike Fast, a former writer for Baseball Prospectus who now works for the Houston Astros. These plots show actual calls superimposed onto dashed lines that represent the strikezones that all Umpires generally call. The dashed lines shift to represent typical deviations for LHH and RHH.
